Day 01: Kathmandu - Lhasa-Tsedang

 

Morning you will fly for about an hour over the panoramic Himalayan Ranges to the capital of Tibet. "Lhasa" and on arrival you will be met and assist by our representative and proceed for Tsedang by surface and on arrival check-in into the hotel.

 

Tsedang town is surrounded by temples, monasteries, holy mountains, sacred lakes and rivers. Tsedang is major tourist destination in Tibet with mild climate and rich natural resources. Tsedang is the birthplace of earliest Tibetans who were said to be the offspring of a monkey and a demoness, so Tsedang literally means "monkey's playground". Here's a legend. People said that genius had lived here long before human being resided in Tibet. After the Gods of the genius got married, they had six sons who became the ancestors of the six tribes of Tibet respectively. It is the hometown of tribes and an important place of origin of the Tibetan culture.

Full day you will take rest in the afternoon to acclimatize.

Day 02: In Tsedang

Morning proceed for thee sightseeing of Yambulaghang and Samye.


Samye Monastery was founded in the 8th century during the reign of King Trisong Detsen with the help of the Indian Buddhist masters Padmasambhava and Shantarakshita, whom the king had invited to Tibet to help spread Buddhism. It is also notable as the site of the "Great Debate" (792-794) between the Indian Mahayanists and Chinese Chan (Zen) Buddhists. Samye is famous for its sacred mandala design: the central temple symbolizes the legendary Mount Meru, center of the universe. The first Tibetan monks were ordained here after examination, and are referred to as the Seven Examined Men. Over the centuries Samye has been associated with various schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 03: Tsedang – Lhasa

Drive to Lhasa and on arrival check-in into your hotel.


Lhasa at an altitude of 3,650 mt, is situated on the north bank of Kyichu River. Lhasa in Tibetan means "Place of the Gods", the residence of the Dalai Lama. It is sacred because of the figures of Songtsen Gampo and his two royal consorts and the figures of Sakyamuni brought from Chang' an and Nepal. One thousand five hundred years ago Lhasa was known as Otang, which means, "plain flowing with milk," because of its rich pasture, good for grazing sheep and cattle. The Rasa Monastery soon became the Otang people's central place of worship, for it enshrined the gilded image of Sakyamuni brought from Chang's an by Princess Wen Cheng. In the course of time, the original name of the place was forgotten, and it became known simply as Rasa, which was gradually changed into Lhasa.

 

Full day you will take rest in the afternoon to acclimatize.

Day 04: In Lhasa
Morning you will proceed for full day sightseeing of Potala Palace, Ramoche Monastery and & Norbulinka.

 

Potala Palace, this legendary palace built atop a single hill is synonymous with Tibet by the first foremost king Songtsen Gompa. Norbulingka meaning 'Treasure Park' covers an area of around 360000 sq. m. and is considered to be the biggest man made garden in Tibet.

 

Stay overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 05: Lhasa- Kathmandu

In time transfer to airport to connect return flight for Kathmandu, after reaching at Kathmandu airport board on connecting the fight for onward journey.
