Day 01: Arrive Lhasa
On your arrival at Lhasa airport transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Lhasa at an altitude of 3,650 mt, is situated on the north bank of Kyichu River.
Lhasa in Tibetan means "Place of the Gods", the residence of the Dalai Lama.,
It is sacred because of the figures of Songtsen Gampo and his two royal consorts and the figures of Sakyamuni brought from Chang' an and Nepal. One thousand five hundred years ago Lhasa was known as Otang, which means, "plain flowing with milk," because of its rich pasture, good for grazing sheep and cattle.The Rasa Monastery soon became the Otang people's central place of worship, for it enshrined the gilded image of Sakyamuni brought from Chang's an by Princess Wen Cheng. In the course of time, the original name of the place was forgotten, and it became known simply as Rasa, which was gradually changed into Lhasa.
Day 02: In Lhasa
Morning you will proceed for full day sightseeing of Potala Palace, Ramoche Monastery and & Norbulinka.
Potala Palace, this legendary palace built atop a single hill is synonymous with Tibet by the first foremost king Songtsen Gompa. Norbulingka meaning 'Treasure Park' covers an area of around 360000 sq. m. and is considered to be the biggest man made garden in Tibet.

Day 03: In Lhasa
Morning you will proceed for full day sightseeing of Drepung Monastery
Drepung Monastery is one the three greatest Buddhist temples in Lhasa together with Sera and Ganden Monasteries. This temple was originally built in 1416 when the Buddhist Gelug Sect was in the golden time.
Visit Drepung Monastery for the whole morning, later after lunch, visit Sera monastery.

Day 04: Lhasa - Potala
Morning you will proceed for Potala and on arrival check-in into the hotel
Later full day sightseeing of Drepung Monastery
Visit Potala & Norbulinka Palace, Drepung & Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar.
Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 05: Potala - Gyantse
Morning proceed to Gyantse and on arrival check-in into the hotel.
Gyantse is a small town south west of Lhasa known because of its Fortress, the Dzong, a very special building, the Kimbum, and a monastery, the Pelkor Chode. There is a monastery on the outskirts of the town and an old fort not far distant. Because the roads to Mount Everest and to Mount Kailash divide just West of Lhatse, the town is a popular lunch stop for tour groups heading to those locations. Buddhist festivals are sometimes held at the monastery, drawing inhabitants from the surrounding region.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Gyantse - Shigatse
Morning proceed to Shigaste and on arrival check-in into the hotel.
Later visit Tashilumpo monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama, hence one of the most important monasteries in Tibet.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 07: Shigatse - Sakya
Drive to Sakya. Explore the Sakya Monastery. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 08: Shigatse - Zhangmu
Drive to Zhangmu stopping at Nyalamu. Time permitting, visit the Milarepa's Cave. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 09: Zhangmu - Kathmandu
Morning you will drive to Kathmandu and on arrival check-in into the hotel. Rest of the day you will free for to visit local animated market. Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 10: Kathmandu Departure
In time departure transfer to international airport to board flight for onward Journey. |
