Day 01: Arrival Colombo - Kandy
On your arrival in Colombo airport met and proceed for Kandy by surface, enroute visit the Pinnawela an Elephant Orphanage.
Pinnawela is the only one of its kind in the world. It’s a conservation project for orphaned and injured elephants, where you will be able to see the little jumbos being fed and bathed in the nearby river.
Later continue drive to Kandy and on arrival check-in into hotel for overnight stay.
Kandy is a World Heritage Site and the name Kandy was derived by the colonial rulers from the word Kanda in Sinhala, meaning a hill. Kandy was the stronghold of the Sinhalese kings, who promoted and protected the local culture until the city fell to the British in 1815. Kandy is famous for the Kandy Perahara-a huge cultural pageant that takes place in the month of July or August. It is one of the most colorful processions of the world. Thousands of drummers and dancers accompanying a parade of ornamented elephants perform in the streets of Kandy.
Day 02: In Kandy
Morning proceed for a city sightseeing tour,
The Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Also visit the Temple of the Tooth also known as Dalda Maligawa. it is also one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world. Also visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers.
Late evening visit the temple of the tooth relic and thereafter witness a cultural show.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
Morning proceed for Nuwara Eliya by road and on arrival check-in into hotel,
Nuwara Eliya popularly referred as the ‘City of Light’ and also the heart of Srilanka’s tea country. The cool climate and the tea plantation welcome and attract the tourists from all over the world.
Afternoon proceed for a city sightseeing tour
Visit the Horton Plains, the famous botanical gardens and Tea Plantation. Visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, to Know about the process of manufacturing tea. You can taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Later visit the famous 18 hole golf course.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Nuwara Eliya – Sita Eliya – Hambantota
Morning you will visit Sita Eliya and thereafter proceed to Hambantota.
Afternoon jeep safari to Buddala national Park,
Buddala national Park is the largest national parks in Sri Lanka. Bundala is the home of wild elephants, wild boar, wild buffalo, deer, crocodiles, large flocks or birds and herds of wild animals.
On arrival at Hambantoata check-in into your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 05: Hambantota – Ahungalla
Morning visit to Galle to see the turtle hatchery,
Galle is 116 Kms south of Colombo, this is south Sri Lanka's most important town, and though planted squarely on the beach circuit it derives its apotheosis from reasons other than golden stretches of sand. It is famous for its old Dutch fort and ramparts.
Thereafter proceed for Ahungalla and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 06: Ahungalla – Colombo
Morning you will drive to Colombo and on arrival check-in into hotel.
Rest of the day you are free to visit local animated market.
Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 07: Depart Colombo
In time you will transfer to airport to board on flight for onward destination. |
