Day 01: Arrive Kolkata
On your arrival at international airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.


The city was established in 1686 when British moved to the small villages of Sutanati, Govindpur, and Kalikata from their trading port of Hooghly. The city got its name from the last of the settlements mentioned above. The city progressed well until 1756 when Siraj-Ud-Daula (Nawab of Bengal) attacked the town and drove away the British. Lord Clive retook Calcutta- Kolkata and until 1911, Calcutta- Kolkata remained the capital of the British government in India. Being the center of power for so long created a unique culture and heritage of the city, totally unlike any other city of India. Calcutta is today a sprawling city of strange contrasts.  Palatial houses, huge monuments, a center of active politics, film and theatre, culture and art, the city offers another picture of herself in its hustle-bustle, its over crowdedness, its noisy streets and narrow lanes. 


Day 02: In Kolkata

Morning proceed for city sightseeing of Kolkata


Visit Indian Museum - Established long back in 1814 in the Asiatic Society Building was founded by Dr. Nathaniel Wallich, a botanist from Denmark. It is one of the earliest museums established in the world and considered the largest and best museum in the country. In 1875, it was shifted to the new building in Italian architectural style designed by Walter B Grawille, Kali Ghat - Kalighat is located in the city of Calcutta on the banks of the river Hooghly (Bhagirathi). The Kalighat temple in its present form iis only about 200 years old, although it has been referred to in Mansar Bhasan composed in the 15th century, and in Kavi Kankan Chandi of the 17th century. St.Paul Church & Victoria memorial - Victoria Memorial has been built in a sprawling 26 hectares of land and a visit to Victoria Memorial is the best education one can possibly have of the British East India Company's rule in India. Here you will come face to face with miniature paintings and images of Queen Mary, King George V and Queen Victoria. What is more, you will be mesmerized by the three thousand five hundred articles associated with the everlasting memory of Queen Victoria.

Day 03: Kolkata – Guwahati
Departure transfer to domestic airport to connect flight to Guwahati and on arrival transfer to your hotel.


Guwahati considered as the gateway to the North-East of the country and Hub for the entire region and an entry point the world of wonders. The city is also a major center for cultural activities and sports in the North Eastern Region and for the administrative and political activities in Assam.  The city is located between the picturesque hills of the eastern flanks of the Himalayan mountain range.


Later sight seeing tour of city


Visit Kamakhya Temple Kalakshetra, for a Glimpse of Assamese culture & tradition, Bashistha Ashram and a Major Hindu Pilgrimage site. Next visit to Bhubaneswar, from where one can have a bird's eye view of the Guwahati.

Day 04: Guwahati - Kaziranga National Park (220 Kms / 04 Hrs)
Morning drive on to famous Kaziranga National park and on arrival check-in into  Jungle resort.


Kaziranga National Park is consisting of dense forest, rugged reeds, marshes and shallow pools. Elephant grass grows up to a few meters making it an ideal grazing ground for the famed One Horned Rhinoceros. It is also a habitat of many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears and thousand of birds.


In the afternoon visit nearby Tea Estate.

Day 05: In Kaziranga
Early morning explore central Range of Kaziranga National Park on Elephant Safari. Elephants moved in a group through the grazing ground taking us closest we could be to the wild ones. Wildlife to be seen in the central range is Rhinoceros,


On return explore the eastern range on a jeep safari.


Return for lunch and proceed to Western Range of Kaziranga National Park on jeep. Stay overnight at resort.


Day 06: Kaziranga – Shillong (280 Kms / 06 Hrs)
Morning proceed to Shillong en-route at Borapani Umiam Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills.

In the afternoon visit the City

Visit Shillong peak, Elephant falls, Mawsmai cave, Mawsmai falls and Thangkharam Park (which overlooks panoramic plains of Bangladesh.

Day 07: Excursion to Cherrapunjee (60 Kms 1& 1/2 Hrs One way)
Morning proceed for an excursion to Cherrapunjee,

The rain capital of the world Cherrapunjee is a small town located on the southern edge of Khasi Hills, the town  is about 400 Km inland from the Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean and is home to over 16000 people. varies from heavy to medium to light, but there is no month without rain. Another surprising fact about Cherrapunjee Meghalaya is that, it rains mostly at night. Day-to-day activity does not really get disrupted by the rain. 

 

Visiting the beautiful waterfall-Noh-ka-likai is at Cherrapunjee and caves in and around Cherrapunjee.

 

Afternoon return to Shillong, en-route visit Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views and on arrival overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 08: Shillong - Guwahati (100 Kms / 03 Hrs)
Morning you will visit Ward Lake and Hydari Park.

Admire the beauty of Shillong, also called Scotland of the East. It is erstwhile capital of undivided Assam and present Northeast and home to the Khasi highland tribes.

 

Afternoon drive back to Guwahati and in the evening takes a cruise on Mighty Brahmaputra River.

Stay overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 09: Guwahati - Kolkatta
In time transfer to Guwahati airport to board flight for Kolkatta and on arrival you will be met and transferred to hotel.

Rest of the evening you will be free to explore to local market.

Day 10: Depart Kolkata
n time you will transfer to international airport to connect flight for onward journey.
