Places to visit: Trivandrum - Kovalam – Alleppey - Kumarakom – Periyar - Munnar - Cochin 


Day 01: Arrive Trivandrum
On early morning arrival at airport, you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

Thiruvananthapuram means 'The town of Lord Anantha' is believed to be originated due the presence of the temple of Lord Anantha in the heart of the city. famous for its enchanting tourist spots including internationally renowned beaches like Kovalam, historic monuments with Gothic architecture, lakes and backwaters, unexplored mountain ranges etc.


Later proceed for city tour of Thiruvanathapuram.

 Visit the famous Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Rebuilt in 1733, it ia an excellent example of South Indian architecture. Visit the Zoological Park (except Mondays), Napier Museum with its bronze collection, Sri Chitra Art Gallery with paintings from various schools; from countries like China, Japan, Java and Bali.

 Day 02: In Trivandrum (Excursion to Cape Comorin, Kanya Kumari)
Morning proceed for an excursion to Cape Comorin.


Kanyakumari is the southernmost point of peninsular India and the meeting point of three oceans-the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, its importance as a Hindu pilgrim center, the temple is dedicated to Parvati as Devi Kanya, the Virgin Goddess who did penance to obtain the hand of Lord Shiva. The deity, it is famous for its beautiful views of sunrise and sunset over the waters.


Visit Kumari Amman Temple dedicated to Goddess Parvati as Devi Kanya, Goddess Bhagavathi Temple in Kanyakumari is picturesquely located at the confluence of the three oceans - the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea and Vivekananda rock memorial, Gandhi memorial and watch the sunset at Kanyakumari a magnification sight offers plenty of chance to take excellent photographs about life in beach and views of sunset.

Day 03: Trivandrum - Kovalam (16 Kms/ ½ Hrs) 

Morning proceed for Kovalam and on arrival check-in into the hotel.
Kovalam is one of the most beautiful beaches of the world. The surf here is ideal for surf-riding and the water invites the visitor to ride the -Catamaran- or log, with the fisherman, or to take a cool swim. Nearby is the Beach Centre of aquatic sports. At the Yoga and Health Centre, Yoga classes and transcendental meditation are held. Ayurvedic oil massages and oil bath are given by experts.


Full day you are free for independent activities.

 

Beach in the morning and have hedonism of the sun, sand and sea. Later you can rejuvenate Ayurvedic therapies at the Ayurvedic Treatment Center in Kovalam (on direct payment Basis).


Stay overnight in Kovalam.

Spend the day at leisure enjoying the beauty of the picturesque beach town Kovalam. You can also avail traditional Ayurvedic massage packages to help soothe your spirits. (on direct payment Basis).

 

Day 04: Kovalam - Alleppey (174 Kms /04 Hrs) 
Drive to Alleppey. Board an houseboat (rice boat). Overnight on board.

 The coastal town of Alleppey on the Arabian Sea is the Venice of the East, for the numerous canals that meander through the town. Bathing in the backwaters on the Vemband Lake is refreshing. This town holds a thrilling event of snake-boat race every year in August. 


Day 05: Alleppey - Kumarakom 
 Arrive Kumarakom by boat and check-in to a hotel.


The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake in Kerala, which is home to local varieties of waterfowl, cuckoo, and water ducks, as well as migrating Siberian storks. Furthermore Vembanad Lake is home to several types of marine life exclusively the 'Karimeen' (Pearl Spotted Fish), the 'Chemeen' (Prawns).

Day 06: Kumarakom - Periyar (133 Kms / 04 Hrs) 
 Drive to Periyar  and on arrival check-in into the hotel.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the well-known wildlife sanctuaries in the south. Also called the Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary, this place is ideal for watching the animals in their natural habitat. This lake serves as the waterhole for the animals and they come here to drink or take a dip. Elephants, Gaur, Sambhar and even tigers can be spotted here.

Later a Motor boat ride to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. During your boat cruise, you will also be able to have a good look at many wild animals lazing on the banks of Lake Periyar. 

 

Evening visit the Kumily spice village and retire to the forest lodge for overnight stay.

Day 07: Periyar - Munnar (160 Kms /05 Hrs) 

 
Morning drive to Munnar and enroute enjoy the Cardamom hills and green tea plantations.
On arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Munnar, Tea estates provides a panoramic view of the valley and tea plantation. The enchanting high range of lakes and streams, the low-flying clouds and the mist-filled valleys cast a magical spell, which lingers long in the memory. The hill area is breathtakingly beautiful and is easily comparable to the best mountain ranges found anywhere in the world.


Day 08: In Munnar
Morning take visit to Eravikulam National Park,


Eravikulam National Park, where you can see the very rare mountain goats locally called the Nilgiri Tahr, and The Mattupetty Lake and dam, just a short distance from the farm, Dairy Farm, Old Munnar Town, the town market. 

Stay overnight stay at hotel.
 
Day 09: Munnar - Cochin (130 Kms /04 Hrs) 

Drive to Cochin and transfer to hotel.

 

One of the finest natural harbors on the Arabian Sea coast, Kochi, earlier known as Cochin, has been a port of all for foreign traders from early times. The city of peninsulas and islands, today it is Kerala’s commercial hub .Chinese Fishing Nets at the entrance of Cochin harbor are a fascinating sight.  Bolgatty Island houses Bolgatty Island built by the Dutch in 1774, which is former residence of the British Resident of Kochi. The Portuguese led by Vasco Da Gama arrived in 1502 and later the Dutch and the British.  And descendants of the Jews who arrived in ancient days still live here.


Afternoon take Half day tour Cochin.

 

Visiting Fort Cochin, proceed on a sight seeing tour to attractions such as the Dutch Palace,


Chinese Fishing Nets named after the country of their origin. Jewish Synagogue,  in Mattancherry was built in 1568 and rebuilt in 1664 with Chinese willow-patterned tiles and gold crowns and has ancient scrolls,  Mattancherry Palace,  See St. Francis Church, the first European Church in India, where Vasco Da Gama was buried until his remains were taken back to Portugal, and Fort Cochin. Visit the Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese in 1510 and later taken over by the Dutch.


A boat cruise in the backwaters takes you in the midst of a lush green setting of shady lagoons, wooded islands and canals.

Relax in the afternoon and spend time at leisure.

 

Day 10: Departure Cochin
 Day you will be free for Independent activities, Evening as per scheduled time transfer to airport to board on flight for you onward Journey.
