Glimpses of Goa

Day 01:  Arrive Delhi
On your arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

 

Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend.  It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone.  From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.

 

Day 02: In Delhi
Full day proceed for city sightseeing of Delhi

 

Morning visit Qutub Minar, one of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb - a red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal. India Gate (War Memorial Arch) and Lakshminarayan Temple - a modern Hindu Temple, Also drive past Parliament House and Presidency House.


Afternoon visit Raj Ghat - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Jama Masjid, one of the largest and best-known mosques, and drive past Red Fort later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Chandani Chowk market.

Day 03: Delhi - Mandawa
Drive to Mandawa. Rest of the day visit the Shekhavati villages of Dundlod, Mandawa, etc. Mandawa was founded in 1755 by Thakur Nawal Singh and is still the home of his descendants. Mandawa houses a collection of armories, costumes of ancestors, canons from 1820, ancient coins, numismatic collection and many other interesting items preserved in a museum. The whole area of Shekhavati has beautiful frescoes, havelis & mansions and is called the open air gallery.

 

Day 04: Mandawa -Jaipur
Morning you will drive to Jaipur and on arrival check-in into the hotel. Rest of the day you will be free to explore local animated market.


Jaipur has been like that since 1727 when Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II had it built. And In 1876 A.D. Jaipur dressed itself in pink to welcome Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria and earned the epitaph ‘PINK CITY', it is also a home of excellent handicrafts especially known for the exquisite gold jewellery enameled or inlaid with precious stones, blue pottery, carving on wood, stone & ivory, block print, tie & dye textiles, hand made paper, miniature painting etc.

Day 05: In Jaipur
Morning we take an excursion to the Amber Fort and afternoon visit the city.

 

Visiting impressive Amber Fort situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City. At the foot of the hill you will mount your caparisoned elephant for the slow but steady climb up to the main gate, The Fort, completed in the early 18th century, took over 100 years to build and now, although deserted, offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Moghul ruling families. A royal elephant ride to ascend the fort (depending upon the availability else by jeep). Also visit Sheesh Mahal or the Hall of Victory glittering with mirrors.

 

Next visit Maharaja's City Palace, the Observatory, & Ram Niwas Gardens. Later stop at Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace) for photography. Hawa Mahal was built in 1799, its original intention was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen.

Day 06: Jaipur- Ranthambore
Morning drive Ranthambore and on arrival check-in into the hotel.

 

Ranthambore Fort is a formidable fort and has been a focal point of historical developments of Rajasthan. It is surrounded the famous Ranthambore National Park which was formerly the hunting grounds for the Maharajahs of Jaipur.

 

Afternoon proceed for 01st Jeep safari to Ranthambhore National Park to view the wild life & bird species.

Stay overnight at the wildlife resort.

 

Day 07: In Ranthambore
After tea-coffee, early morning proceed for 02nd Jeep safari to the park with packed breakfast, later visit The Ganesh Temple and The Ranthambore Fort is an impressive historic monument spreads over an area of 7 Km and offers spectacular views of the National Park Ranthambore.

 

Afternoon you will be free to take rest at hotel.

Evening proceed for 03rd Jeep safari to Ranthambhore National Park to view the wild life & bird species.

Stay overnight at hotel.

 

Day 08: Ranthambore - Bharatpur - Agra
As per scheduled time transfer to Swai Madhopur railway station to board train for Bharatpur and on arrival at Bharatpur railway station directly drive for Keoladeo National Park.

 

Enjoy a day inside the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary on a cycle rickshaw. Have a picnic, lunch in the Reserve itself.

Later depart for Agra and en route visit the walled city of Fatehpur Sikri.

 

Fatehpur Sikri is 40 Kms from Agra and built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal and other Palaces.

Thereafter continue drive to Agra and on arrival check-in into hotel.
 
Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World-the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendour of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is a vivid remainder of the capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries. A pleasant town with comparatively slow pace, the city is also famous for its carpets, gold thread embroidery and leather shoes. Agra was once the capital of the Mughal Empire.

Afternoon you will take half day city tour of Agra.

 

Visiting the world famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later visit the Agra Fort containing the the Halls of Public and Private Audience. Also visit the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daullah built by Empress Noorjehan in memory of her father.

Stay overnight at hotel.

 

Day 09: Agra – Delhi – Goa
Morning proceed to Delhi by surface and on arrival directly transfer to domestic airport to connect flight for Goa and on arrival check-in into the hotel.

 

Rest of the day you will be free to explore local animated market.

 

The azure seas of the Goa yield a variety of the fresh, tasty seafood and fish. the cultural and historical heritage of Goa, demonstrates a symbiotic relationship between East and the West. The churches, temples and mosques in Goa set an example of religious harmony and secularism before other states in India. Goa remained under Portuguese command for about 450 years. In 1961, Goa became a union territory along with Daman and Diu in India. In 1987, Goa became the 25th state of India. And now it is immensely popular tourist destination.

 

Day 10: In Goa
Morning depart for the full day city tour of Goa

 

Visiting Se Cathedral, St. Catherine’s Church and Church of St. Francis Xavier In the former lies the uncorrupted body of St. Francis Xavier in a silver casket and the latter houses 14 magnificent altars and five bells of which one is the famous golden Bell, and famous Basilica of Bom Jesus and The tour continues with a drive to Dona Paula beach, later drive past Miramar Beach. 

 

Later pick up and Return to your hotel- Resort.

 

Day 11: In Goa
Full day you are free for independent activities. Laze on the beach, go for a swim, explore the shops for cashew nuts, buy holiday wear or take an optional tour visiting “Goa of the past” mockup village which portrays Goa what it was 100 years ago.

Stay overnight at the beach resort.

 

Day 12: Goa – Delhi Departure
As per scheduled time you will be transferred to airport for onward flight to Delhi for onward journey.
