Day 01: Arrive Delhi
On your early morning arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend.  It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone.  From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.

Full day take the tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi.

Morning proceed for sightseeing of New Delhi, visit Qutub Minar, One of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb; built by the wife of Humayun, Haji Begum in the mid 16th century, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal.  Drive pass by India Gate (A War memorial) and Presidency House.

Afternoon sightseeing of Old Delhi include the drive past to Red Fort, visit to Jama Masjid, Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and completed in the year 1656 AD, it is one of the largest and best-known mosques, and later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Chandani Chowk market.

Day 02: Delhi- Shimla
Morning drive to Shimla and on arrival check-in the hotel for overnight stay.
 
The summer capital of the British in India, this was the country's focus for the better part of every year and now, it is the state capital of Himachal Pradesh. Today, its well developed facilities, easy accessibility and numerous attractions make it one of India's most popular hill resorts. Places in the lower ranges of the Himalaya Mountains, it is surrounded by pine, deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. Within the town are a host of splendid colonial edifices, quaint cottages and charming walks.

 

Day 03: Shimla - Sarahan (1920m/174 Kms)
From Shimla drive to Sarahan and on arrival stay overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 04: Sarahan - Chitkul (3,450m/122 Kms)
Drive from Sarahan to Chitkul.

Stay overnight at the trekking campsite in Chitkul.

 

Day 05: In Chitkul
Trek through lush green meadows to the grazing fields of Nagasti on the banks of the Baspa River, after lunch on the riverbank return to the campsite in Chitkul for overnight stay.

 

Day 06: Kalpa & Recong Peo (2,900m/ 80 Kms)
After breakfast drive to Kalpa en route visiting Recong Peo, the new Buddhist monastery built to commemorate His Holiness Dalai Lama's Kalchakra sermon and the ancient village of Pangi, lunch will be served en route. After tea at trekking camp in Kalpa walk to Chinni village.

These villages offer a good opportunity to observe the lifestyle of the inhabitants.
Return to the camp for overnight stay.

 

Day 07: Pub & Khab
The barren and rugged brown mountains start from Pub (2,837m), one can continue along the Sutlej till one reaches Khab (2,831m) the meeting point (Sangam) of rivers Sutlej and Spiti. A direct climb up takes one to the temple of Padmasambhava the second incarnation of Lord Buddha.

Day 08: Spiti Valley & Tabo Monastery
Drive inside Spiti valley. Geologically and archaeologically, Spiti is a living museum. These barren rock mountains are devoid of any vegetation due to erosion by wind, sun and snow over thousands of years. The rugged and rocky mountain slopes sweep down to the riverbed giving the landscape a moon like appearance.

Climb up to Tabo (3,050m/64 Km), the largest monastery in Spiti and one of the few remaining examples of golden period of Buddhist culture in the Himalayan region.

Stay overnight at Camp.

 

Day 09: Dhankar - Monastery - Tabo - Kaza
Drive to Dankar (also spelt as Dhankar) the traditional capital of Spiti, Dankar Gompa (3,890m) is located on top of a hill 25m. From Tabo, a further 22-km. takes one to Kaza.

Stay overnight at camp.

 

Day 10: Ki Gompa – Kaza
Visit the famous Ki Gompa and onward to the second highest inhabited village in the world Kibber.
Return to Kaza and camp overnight.

 

Day 11: Chhatru & Kuzum Pass
Drive to Chhatru (3,560m/160-km), over the famous Kunzum pass (4,551m).
Stay overnight at camp.

Day 12: Chatru - Keylong (3,350 M/104 Kms)
Drive from Chatru to Keylong and on arrival stay overnight at camp.

Day 13: Khardong Gompa - Rohtang Pass - Manali
Visit the famous Khardong Gompa then drive through the Rohtang pass (3,980m) to Manali and on arrival stay overnight at hotel.

 

Day 14: In Manali
Explore the picturesque valley of Manali.

Visit and visit 400 years old Pagoda Temple of Hadimba Devi and old Manali to see the Manu temple and Vashist Temple - a glance of Himachali Articture.

Stay overnight at your hotel. 

 

Day 15: Kullu - Shoja (2,745 M/122-km)
Drive via Kullu to Shoja a beautiful village on the edge of the Great Himalayan National Park.

Stay overnight at the camp.

 

Day 16: Shoja - Jalori Pass (3,135m/4 Kms)
Early morning trek along the road to Jalori Pass. After lunch at the pass return to camp for overnight stay.

 

Day 17: Jalori Pass - Mandi - Palampur (1,219m/94 Kms)
Drive to Mandi (475m/70-km) and onwards to Palampur which is set admist lush green tea gardens.  Arrive and chek-in into the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 18: Palampur - Dharamshala
Drive to Dharmsala by surface for and on arrival check-in into the hotel.

Over looking the plains and is surrounded by dense pine trees and Deodar forests. A busy bazaar town, Dharamsala has established itself as the traveler’s base camp, which come to explore the nearby mountains. The Kotwali Bazaar provides the entire colour and characteristic of a small town, which is mixed with the simple life style. The colourful temple and Gompas, which reflect the culture of Tibet, adds attraction for the visitor. The Kangra museum gives an overview of the rich past of the region and on the other hand there are institutes that have been established to preserve the Tibetan art, cultures and traditions.


Afternoon visit Norbulingka, an institute for the preservation for tradition Tibetan arts and crafts. Also visit the Kangra Art museum which exhibits painting from the Kangra school of Miniature Paintings, sculptures, tribal and ornaments and photograph of the local monuments. Afternoon visit the Tibetan institute of the performing Arts founded in 1959 by holiness of the Dalai Lama to preserve traditional Tibetan art froms in music, dance and theatre.

Later visit Tsuglkhang or HH Dalai Lama’s temple, Bhasu nag waterfall. Walk around market in the evening.

Rest of the day you will be at leisure.

Day 19: Dharamshala - Dalhousie
Drive to Dalhousie (2,036m/164-km) set within the Dhauladhars and overlooking the Pir Panjal Range. Dalhousie has retained much of its original character and thick forested hills.

Day 20: Dalhousie - Khajjiar
Morning drive to Khajjiar and on arrival check-in the hotel for overnight stay.

 Day 21: Khajjiar - Amritsar (213 Kms / 04 Hrs)
Morning drive to Amritsar and on arrival check-in the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Around the Golden Temple, the holy city of Amritsar came into being. Guru Ram Das the successor go Guru Amar Das, came to live near this tranquil and peaceful site,  and started building the pilgrimage centre around the small pool, (later to become the Sarowar) which had initially drawn Guru Amar Das. The Jallianwala Bagh is a memorial of the martyrs of the 1919 massacre by the British General Dyer. There is the well into which the crowds jumped to escape the murderous hail of bullets and a simple memorial at the site that shaped India's destiny. 

Evening an excursion to Wagah Border,


Wagah Border is between India and Pakistan, where you can view the ceremonial changing of the guard at dusk. Be in your seat just half an hour before sunset. Make sure you have a grandstand view of the high- stepping guards as they go through the immaculately contrived nightly parade of closing the border and ceremonial lowering of the flags.

Day 22: Amritsar – Delhi
Morning proceed for sight seeing tour of city

Visit Golden Temple (Darbar Sahib), situated in Amritsar, Punjab is the most sacred temple for Sikhs. It is a symbol of the magnificence and strength of the Sikh people all over the world. In the evolution of the Darbar Sahib, is entwined the history and ideology of Sikhism. In its architecture are included, symbols associated with other places of worship.


In time transfer to railway station to board train for Delhi and on arrival transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.


Day 23: Depart Delhi
Later transfer to the International Airport for flight to onward destination.
