Tibet Wildlife Tour

Places to visit: Lhasa – Nyingtri - Baksun Tso - Jamba Village – Nyingtri - Lamaling Temple – Lhasa


Day 01:  Arrive Lhasa
On your arrival and on arrival you will be transferred to hotel.

 

Rest of the day you will be free for independent activities.

 

Lhasa at an altitude of 3,650 Mts. is situated on the north bank of Kyichu River. Lhasa in Tibetan means "Place of the Gods", the residence of the Dalai Lama. It is sacred because of the figures of Songtsen Gampo and his two royal consorts and the figures of Sakyamuni brought from Chang' an and Nepal. One thousand five hundred years ago Lhasa was known as Otang, which means, "plain flowing with milk," because of its rich pasture, good for grazing sheep and cattle. The Rasa Monastery soon became the Otang people's central place of worship, for it enshrined the gilded image of Sakyamuni brought from Chang's an by Princess Wen Cheng. In the course of time, the original name of the place was forgotten, and it became known simply as Rasa, which was gradually changed into Lhasa.

Day 02: In Lhasa
Morning you will proceed for full day sightseeing of Heritage Sites of Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple.

Visit Potala, which was constructed in 637 by Songtsen Gampo, the first king of the united Tibet and later reconstructed and served as the winter residence of the Dalai Lamas. and Jokhang monastery, the center of the Tibetan Buddhism and the sacred land of Buddhist followers where innumerable pilgrims come for worship everyday. The temple, built in 647, is the earliest wood-and-masonry structure still existing in Tibet.


Later explore the bustling bazaar along the Barkhor Street.

Day 03: In Lhasa
Morning you will proceed for full day sightseeing of highlights of Lhasa - the Drepung Monastery, the Sera Monastery, both of them are Gelupa Monasteries and also you will visit the famous Dalai Lama summer palace - Norbulingka. 


Drepung Monastery is one the three greatest Buddhist temples in Lhasa together with Sera and Ganden Monasteries.

 

Visit Drepung Monastery for the whole morning, later after drive to Sera Monastery, have a little hike for the beautiful valley scenery nearby and picnic there, in the afternoon, visit Sera monastery, which was created in 1419 and has always been an important Buddhist seminary. As rose are planted everywhere in the monastery, it is also called “the court of wild rose”.

 

Norbulingka meaning 'Treasure Park' covers an area of around 360000 sq. m. and is considered to be the biggest man made garden in Tibet. 

Later walk on the Barkhor Street nearby the temple, a big free market with its prolific stalls for selling local specialties.

Day 04: Lhasa – Nyingtri - Baksun Tso
Morning you will proceed for Nyingtri


Nyingtri is a land apart from the rest of Tibet. Its climate, geography, flora and fauna all lend it a unique, almost magical atmosphere. Today we will drive to Nyching – 420 KM from Lhasa. On the way, the eminent snow mountain and greenly forest full of your eyes. The Tibetans accommodate in the lodges and farmhouses along the mountains and valleys. The Kadin Valley, a waterfall named Tianfo will show you how sweet the water in Nyching.


Later continue proceed for Baksun Tso Lake and on arrival installation in camp.


Baksun Tso Lake a Jade like lake, we will over night by the heavenly lake.
Stay overnight at camp.


Day 05: Baksun Tso - Jamba Village – Nyingtri
In the Morning you will proceed for   Nyingtri via Jamba Village.


Zhagyab County is where Gesar and Jomba waged a war for salt as depicted in "Jamba", a chapter from a Tibetan epic King Gesar. According to traditional Tibetan geographical concept, this is also Chawagang of the Six Mountain Ranges in DorKang, which is famous for salt production. Archeological surveys have discovered many stone walls and stone steps left over by "Jomba" people. Today we are going to hiking and walking in this little fancy native village.


Later continue drive to Nyingtri and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.


Day 06: Excursion to Pai- Daduka
 Full day you will be on excursion to Pai- Daduka


Warmer, wetter and more forested than anywhere else in Tibet, Kham’s wide vertical range creates a series of biological niches that hide Tibet’s largest concentration of rare animal and plant species.


Today you are going to have such an experience walking on the wild side in Kham area.


Starting from the local town, Pai Druck. Yaluzangbu River suddenly becomes narrow and tempestuous. On your right side ,you can feel the most holy mountain in Eastern Tibet Mt. Namchabawa and the its range is just standing in front of you, they looks so strong but very peaceful.On your left hand , the pure water is running by the cliff, this is the beginning of the deepest canyan ---Yaluzangbu Big Canyan. It’s called Great wild Tibet.
Today 2-3 Hrs walking in this great wild will be required.

 

Stay overnight in camp.


Day 07: Nyingchi - Lamaling Temple – Lhasa
 In the morning, we start visiting the Lamaling Temple.


The whole monastery is like a Mandala. The architectural design of the monastery is ingenious, magnificent and solemn for its unique mould and exceptional style. In addition, this Monastery involves phallic worship and offers sacrifice to genitalia.


Afternoon, drive to the biggest virgin forest –Lulanglinhai,you will feel you are in paradise .When drive back to Nyingtri, visit the king of the cypress.


Later continue drive fro Lhasa and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.


Day 08: Lhasa- Kathmandu Departure
In time transfer to airport to connect return flight for Kathmandu, after reaching at Kathmandu airport board on connecting the fight for onward journey.
