North India with Kornak Sun Temple Tour

Day 01: Arrive Delhi
On your arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend.  It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone.  From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.

 

Day 02: In Delhi
Full day take the tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi.

Morning proceed for sightseeing of New Delhi,  Visit Qutub Minar, One of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb, built by the wife of Humayun, Haji Begum in the mid 16th century, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal.  Drive pass by India Gate (A War memorial) and Presidency House.


Afternoon proceed for sightseeing of Old Delhi, include the drive past to Red Fort, visit to Jama Masjid, Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and completed in the year 1656 AD, it is one of the largest and best-known mosques, and later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Chandani Chowk market.

Stay overnight at hotel.

 

Day 03: Delhi - Agra (205Kms -4 & ½Hrs)
In the morning you will drive to Agra, visit Sikandra en route.

 

Akbar's tomb at Sikandra has a large arched entrance and green lawns, the entrance is decorated with marble inlay work around the arch, and the inner surface of the dome of the tomb is decorated with images of flowers, geometric designs and Islamic calligraphy.

 

On arrival at Agra, check-in into the hotel. Afternoon take Half day tour of Agra.

Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World-the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendour of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is a vivid remainder of the capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries. A pleasant town with comparatively slow pace, The city is also famous for its carpets, gold thread embroidery and leather shoes. Agra was once the capital of the Mughal Empire.

 

Visiting Taj Mahal, the monument of love built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in sweet memory of his wife after she died in 1631. Later visit the Agra Fort,  this was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565. And Itimid-ud-Daulah Tomb, which is also known as Mini Taj because of its resemblance; however it was built before the Taj Mahal.

Day 04: Agra – Jaipur (240Kms - 05Hrs)
In the morning you will Jaipur, en rout en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri. 

 

An epic in red sandstone; a city of yesteryears today lost in the mists of time. A sonless Akbar had gone to Sikri to seek blessings of a Muslim saint Sheikh Salim Chishti. When his son was finally born, he in gratitude constructed his capital city and named it Fatehpur Sikri. Later Fatehpur Sikri is also known as Abandoned Capital of Mughal Empire. 

 

On arrival at Jaipur check-in into hotel for overnight stay.

 

In 1876 A.D. Jaipur dressed itself in pink to welcome Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria and earned the epitaph PINK CITY', it is also a home of excellent handicrafts especially known for the exquisite gold jewellery enameled or inlaid with precious stones, blue pottery, carving on wood, stone & ivory, block print, tie & dye textiles, hand made paper, miniature painting etc.

 

Day 05: In Jaipur
In the morning you will take an excursion to the Amber Fort and afternoon visit the city.

 

Visiting impressive Amber Fort situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City. At the foot of the hill you will mount your caparisoned elephant for the slow but steady climb up to the main gate, The Fort, completed in the early 18th century, took over 100 years to build and now, although deserted, offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Moghul ruling families. A royal elephant ride to ascend the fort (depending upon the availability else by jeep).Later stop at Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace) for photography. Hawa Mahal was built in 1799, its original intention was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen.

Day 06: Jaipur - Delhi (265Kms - 06Hrs)
In the morning you will proceed to Delhi by surface and on arrival check-in into hotel.

The afternoon is free for you to explore the local animated market on your own.

Day 07: Delhi - Bhubaneswar
In the morning as per scheduled time you will be transferred to airport to board flight for Bhubaneswar and on arrival transfer to hotel.


Bhubaneswar - the temple city of India. Once the capital of ancient Kalinga, the city has a long history & is today a bustling centre for

commerce & religious activity. These temples are unique in themselves, not only in their architectural beauty but also in the wonderful sculptures. These temples epitomize a comprehensive history of Orissan style of temple architecture from its very inception to perfection spreading almost to 2000 years from 3rd century BC to 16th Century AD. Today this bustling centre of commerce and religion is Orissa's modern capital.

 

Day 08: Bhubaneswar - Puri
In the morning you will proceed for Temple visit of the city

 

Visiting Lord Shiva Lingaraja Temple, the 11th century temple of Bhubaneswar has been described as "truest fusion of dream & reality." A rare masterpiece, the temple has been rated one of the finest examples of purely Hindu temple. Every inch of the 55 m-high Lingaraja temple is covered with elaborate carvings. Sculpture & architecture fused elegantly to create a perfect harmony. Next we visit Mukteshwara Temple, a 7th-8th century AD is one of the most ornate temples in Bhubaneswar. The intricate carvings of the deities stand testimony to the influence of Hindu, Buddha & Jain style of architecture.

 

We also visit Parashurameshwara Temple, a small but richly decorated shrine of Shiva that was built in the 7th century. It is one of the best examples of the Orissa style of temple architecture.

 

Late afternoon drive to Puri and on arrival proceed for Temple tour of Puri

 

Puri is one of the four holiest points of pilgrimage for Hindus. The reigning deity of the city, Lord Jagannath, whose temple was built way back in the 12th century, is revered by thousands of pilgrims from all over the country. The other important feature of Puri is its beautiful beach, which has offered pleasure to both pilgrims and swimmers for centuries. It is one of the most delightful white beaches in the country.

 

Day 09: Puri – Konark – Puri
In the morning you will proceed for a visit to the world famous Jagannath Puri Temple.

 

Later proceed to visit the famous Sun Temple of Konark.

 

Konark is the glorious 13th century Konark Temple, dedicated to the sun god (Surya), has been designated as an UNESCO World Heritage Monument. The temple, conceived as a massive chariot, hauling the sun god across the heavens by the might of seven splendidly carved horses, standing aloft on 24 chariot wheels intricately carved and symbolizing the march of time, lies in partial ruin at Konark beach.

Return to Puri and stay overnight at hotel.

 

Day 10: Puri - Bhubaneswar - Kolkata
In the morning you will proceed for Bhubaneswar airport to connect flight for Kolkata, on arrival transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 11: Depart Kolkata
In the morning as per schedule you will be transferred to international airport to board flight for your onward journey.
