Day 01:  Arrive Delhi
On your arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend.  It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone.  From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.


Day 02:  In Delhi

Full day proceed for city sightseeing of Delhi

 

Morning visit Qutub Minar, one of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb - a red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal. India Gate (War Memorial Arch) and Lakshminarayan Temple - a modern Hindu Temple, Also drive past Parliament House and Presidency House.


Afternoon visit Raj Ghat - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Jama Masjid, one of the largest and best-known mosques, and drive past Red Fort.

 

Later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Old Delhi


Evening enjoy the Sound and light show in Red fort.
Stay overnight at hotel.

 

Day 03:  Delhi - Gwalior
In the morning as per your scheduled you will be transferred to railway station to board train for Gwalior and on arrival transfer to the hotel.
Gwalior’s history is traced back to a legend, in the 8th century A.D., a chieftain called Suraj Sen was stricken by a deadly disease.  He was cured by a hermit saint Gwalior and in gratitude founded a city, which he named after the saint who had given him the gift of new life.  Gwalior Fort spreads out over an area of 3 square km, built by Raja Man Singh Tomar in the 15th century. Near by temple are Teli-ka-Mandir - Dravidian-style shrine which is notable for its profusely sculpted exterior; the Saas-Bahu Temples- two pillared temples which stand next to each other, one larger than the other; and the Chaturbhuj Mandir, The Mughal emperor Babar referred to the Gwalior Fort as “the pearl amongst fortresses in India”


Afternoon you will proceed on a city tour Of Gwalior.

 

Visiting  Gwalior Fort standing on a steep mass of sandstone, Gwalior Fort dominates the city and is its most magnificent monument, the 9th century Teli ka Mandir, the 11th century Sas Bahu ka Mandir and the Jiwaji Rao Scindia museum. Continue the tour visiting the Tomb of Tansen - Akbar's foremost court musician followed by the memorials of the earliest freedom fighters Tatya Tope and finally the newly constructed Sun Temple.

 

Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 04: Excursion to Shivpuri (117 Kms / 04 hrs onway)
Morning proceed for Shivpuri 117km south-west of Gwaliori. A pleasant lake surrounded by gardens here has been a summer retreat for the Scindia royalty who wished to escape from the oppressive summers of Gwalior. Shivpuri houses a wildlife sanctuary and several hunting lodges. Near Shivpuri, ancient Jain temples scattered across a hilly slope glisten in the sun. Return to Gwalior.


Later return to hotel for overnight stay.


Day 05: Gwalior - Orchha
In the morning you will proceed for Orcha and on arrival check-in into the hotel.


Orchha was founded by Rudra Pratap, a Bundela ruler. The region is situated on the banks of the Betwa River. Later, Orchha was the capital of Bir Singh Deo (1605-1627) who built the Jehangir Mahal to please the Mogul emperor Jehangir. Close-by, near the border of Madhya Pradesh, is Datia, site of the 7-storeyed palace of Bir Singh Deo. Afternoon visit local sightseeing of Orchha - palaces of the Bundela rulers still retain their medieval grandeur. The palace walls are decorated with colourful frescoes executed in the manner of miniature paintings, and depict scenes from the popular legend of love between Radha and Lord Krishna.

Day 06: Orchha - Khajuraho
In the morning you will proceed for Khajuraho and on arrival check-in into the hotel.


Khajuraho has the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples, famous for their erotic sculpture. The name Khajuraho is derived from the Hindi word khajur meaning date palm. The capital of the Chandela Kings, Khajuraho is famous for its magnificent temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and the Jain Tirthankaras. And temple are influenced by tantrism, in eroticism becomes a theme of philosophical interest and the aim is submlimation of sexual relationship in the sexual act or "Maithun", women being regarded as the incarnation of the divine energy or "Shakti". Itis also possible thatthe Khajuraho were influenced by "Kama Sutra".

Visiting western and eastern group of Temples form Chandela Dynasty, A few of the temples are dedicated to the Jain pantheon and the rest to Hindu deities - to God's Trio, among them the Kandariya Mahadeo, Chaunsat Yogini, Chitragupta temple, adinath Temples,Vishwanath temple, andvarious other temples.

Day 07:  Khajuraho – Bandhavgarh
In the morning you will proceed for Bandhavgarh and on arrival check-in into the hotel.


 Bandhavgarh is a new National Park with a very long history. Set among the Vindhya hills of Madhya Pradesh with an area of 168sq miles (437sq km) it contains a wide variety of habitats and a high density of game, including a large number of Tigers. This is also the White tiger country. These have been found in the old state of Rewa for Many years. Maharaja Martand Singh captured the last known in 1951. This white Tiger, Mohun is now stuffed and on display in the Palace of Maharaja of Rewa. Prior to becoming a National Park, the forests around Bandhavgarh had long been maintained as a Shikargah, or game preserve of the Maharaja of Rewa. The Maharaja and his guests carried out hunting - otherwise the wildlife was well protected. It was considered a good omen for Maharaja of Rewa to shoot 109 tigers. His Highness Maharaja Venkat Raman Singh shot 111 Tigers by 1914.


Bandhavgarh has a very high density of tigers within the folds of its jungles. The 105 km² of park area open for tourist was reported to have 22 Tigers, a density of one tiger for every 4.77 km². There is a saying about the Park that goes: “In any other Park, You are lucky if you see a tiger. In Bandhavgarh, you are unlucky if you don't see (at least) one”. With the tiger at the apex of the food chain, it contains 37 species of mammals, more than 250 species of birds, about 70 species of butterflies, a number of reptiles. The forest, tree-covered hills, archaeological remains and a variety of wildlife make the park an enchanting place.

Day 08: In Bandhavgarh
Morning take a first jeep safari to Bandhavgarh National Park. Arrive back to the resort in for refreshment. Evening you will take a second jeep safari to Bandhavgarh National Park. Arrive back to the resort in evening.

Day 09: In Bandhavgarh

Morning take a third jeep safari to Bandhavgarh National Park. Arrive back to the resort in for refreshment.

Evening you will take a fourth jeep safari to Bandhavgarh National Park and arrive back to the resort in evening.

Stay overnight at resort.

 

Day 10: Bandhavgarh – Katni - Delhi Departure
In the morning you will proceed to the National to view the wild life and bird species.

 

Later as per scheduled you will be transferred to railway station to board train for Delhi and on arrival met and transferred to hotel for days use.

Later evening as per scheduled you will be transferred to international airport to connect flight for your onward journey.
