Day 01: Arrive Kolkata
On early morning arrival at International airport you will be transferred to your hotel.

The city was established in 1686 when British moved to the small villages of Sutanati, Govindpur, and Kalikata from their trading port of Hooghly. The city got its name from the last of the settlements mentioned above. The city progressed well until 1756 when Siraj-Ud-Daula (Nawab of Bengal) attacked the town and drove away the British. Lord Clive retook Calcutta- Kolkata and until 1911, Calcutta- Kolkata remained the capital of the British government in India. Being the center of power for so long created a unique culture and heritage of the city, totally unlike any other city of India. Calcutta is today a sprawling city of strange contrasts.  Palatial houses, huge monuments, a center of active politics, film and theatre, culture and art, the city offers another picture of its hustle-bustle, it’s over crowdedness, its noisy streets and narrow lanes.

Visit the Jain Temple, Zoological Gardens, St. Paul Church & Victoria memorial - Victoria Memorial has been built in a sprawling 26 hectares of land and is the best education one can possibly have of the British East India Company's rule in India. Later drive past Howrah Bridge, Dalhousie Square, Fort Williams, Secretariat Building and Old Court House Street. A visit to Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity would also be interesting.


Day 02: Kolkata - Dibrugarh (200 Kms / 07Hrs)
In the morning you will be transferred to airport to board flight for Dibrugarh and on arrival transfer to the hotel.
Rest of the day you will be free for independent activities.

Day 03: In Dibrugarh
In the morning you will drive to Mon and on arrival check-in into the hotel.


Mon District situated at an altitude of 897.64 meters above sea level. It is the home of the Konyaks tribes. Here it is interesting to see the tattooed faces wearing feathered headgears and traditional dress. Konyaks are adept artisans and skilled craftsmen.

Day 04: In Mon
In the morning proceed for trival village.


Visit typical Konyak tribal village, Shangnyu. Ruled by the chief Angh, it is one of the prominent village of the Mon District. There is a wonderful wooden monument measuring 8ft. in height and 12 ft. breadth. Also visit to Konyak Murungs, where one can still see the collection of human skulls. Konyaks were headhunters in the olden days and used to keep the enemies head as a trophy.

Day 05: Mon - Mokokchung
In the morning proceed to Mokokchung, the district headquarter situated at an altitude of 1325 meters above sea level. This picturesque town is the cultural centre of the AO Nagas. The AO warriors used to wear the beautiful black and red hand-woven shawl with its white decorated band to signify their prowess over their enemies.

Day 06: Monchung – Kohima (187 Kms / 07 Hrs)
In the morning you will drive to Kohima and on arrival check-in into the hotel.


Kohima is derived from the “Kew Hi” is the name of a plant grown on the mountainside. “Kew Hi Ma” means “the men of the land where the flower Kew Hi grows”. Earlier, Kohima was known as “Thigoma”. It is the centre for Naga Culture. It Artifacts, handlooms, & Handicrafts, Tools & Implements, Gems & Jewelry, Coins & Ancient weaponry will give you an idea of the rich Culture and Heritage of the native people.

Day 07: In Kohima
In the morning you will visit to Khonoma,

 

Khonoma, is an Angami tribal village. 20 km towards the west of Kohima, the village has its own traditions of valour and courage. History reveals that khonoma provided protection to several villages in good old days. The village gate tells the story of the British infiltration into Naga .
Later you will proceed to Kepfiizha (Kigwema village) and for best trekking on beautiful Dzukuo Valley.

Day 08: Kohima - Dimapur (75 Kms /2 hrs) – Kolkatta Departure
In the morning as per scheduled you will be transferred to the Dimapur airport to take a flight for Kolkatta and on arrival transfer to hotel for day use.


In the afternoon you will be free for independent activities.
Later evening you will be transferred to international airport to connect flight for your onward journey.
