India & Nepal Tour


Nepal is the only Hindu Kingdom in the world today. At the same time it is the land where Lord Buddha was born over 2,500 years ago. A landlocked country situated between India and the Tibetan Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China contains greatest altitudinal variation - from the deepest gorge of "Kali Gandaki", a mere 61 meters above the sea level to the highest point on earth "Mt. Everest", 8,848 meters above the sea level. Nepal's Heritage is alive and dynamic. Shamanism, Pan-animism & Witch-craft is still practiced in remote regions. Temples, shrines, monuments and monasteries are extremely active with devotees burning butter-lamps, singing hymns, chiming temple bells and playing drums. The only country that has living goddess "Kumari".

Places to visit: Delhi – Kathmandu – Patan - Varanasi - Delhi


Day 01: Arrive Delhi

On arrival at International airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for overnight stay.

Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend.  It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone.  From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.
 

Day 02: In Delhi

Full day tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi.

 

Morning visit Qutub Minar, One of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb, built by the wife of Humayun, Haji Begum in the mid 16th century, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal.  Drive pass by India Gate (A War memorial) and Presidency House.

 

Old Delhi tour includes the drive pass to Red fort, Jama Masjid, Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and completed in the year 1656 AD, it is one of the largest and best-known mosques, and later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride with in Chandani chowk market.

Day 03: Delhi – Kathmandu

In time assistance and transfer to airport to board on flight for Kathmandu. and arrival transfer to hotel. Rest of day you are free for independent activities.

Kathmandu the capital of the Nepal Kingdom, surrounded by green hills and mountains with snow capped peaks against its northern and eastern background the Valley is indeed beautiful. There are complex examples of Nepal’s art and architecture all round.

Day 04: In Kathmandu 

This morning, enjoy a full day city tour of Kathmandu,

Visiting temples of Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, temple of the living and Also visit Residence of the Living Goddess near the Durbar Square, which is residence of Kumari, the Living Goddess (Virgin Goddess).  Its wooden balconies and windows are profusely carved.

Afternoon city tour of Kathmandu city includes Hanuman Dhoka, the historic palace of the ancient kings of Nepal.  A complex of many temples and monuments, guarded by a huge statue of the Monkey God, Hanuman, it has evolved to its present state of maturity over a period of centuries with contributions from a number of dynasties, headed by Malla kings.  It is here that the kings of Nepal are crowned, and their coronations solemnized.  There are complex examples of Nepal’s art and architecture all round. 
Rest of the evening is free to enjoy exploring local animated markets,

Day 05: Excursion to Patan


The ancient name of Patan is south east of Kathmandu city across the southern bank of the river Bagamati.  The important sightseeing places in Patan are DURBAR SQUARE, a palace complex and the focal point of city’s attraction it is a cluster of nine pagoda temples and stone statuaries. golden temple of Lokeshwar (Lord Buddha) built in the 12th century A.D, Kumbheshwar - a five storied pagoda style temple of Lord Shiva. Inside the courtyard is a natural spring having its source, as it is said in the famous glacial lake of Gosainkunda.


Morning proceed for full day excursion to Patan

Visiting the Darbar Square, is full or ancient places, temples and shrines, noted for their exquisite carving. It was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979. Later visit Museum, and Krishna Mandir, and Buddhist temple - Mahaboudha, made of clay bricks.
Afternoon return Kathmandu for overnight stay.

 
Day 06: Kathmandu – Varanasi

in time assistance transfer to airport to board flight for Varanasi, and arrival transfer to hotel. Rest of day you are free for independent activities.

One of the India's is a spiritually uplifting sight. It is also a famous center for silk and cotton weaving. A boat ride on river Ganges enables one to observe the rituals being performed by the devotees on the banks. Places of interest are the Ghats - Sacred steps running down into Ganges River, Bharat Mata Temple is unique and is dedicated to the nation. Instead of deity’s statues, it houses one of the most perfect relief maps of India carved out of marble. Yishweshwara Temple - Dedicated to Lord Shiva. Sarnathi is palace where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon.

 
Day 07:  In Varanasi

Early morning boat ride on river Ganges, witness the panoramic view of Ganga and different Ghats.

Later city sightseeing of Varanasi

You will visit Kashi Vishwnath Temple, Kashi Vishwanath temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and is in the holy city of Varanasi. Tulsi Manas Temple, the Tulsi Manas temple is dedicated to lord Ram. It is believed to be built at the same place where Tulsidas wrote the famous Indian epic, Ramcharitamanasa. The walls of the Tulsi Manas temple are engraved with verses and scenes from the Ramcharitammanasa. Bharat Mata Temple; the Bharat Mata temple at Varanasi is the only temple dedicated to Mother India. The Bharat Mata temple was built by Babu Shiv Prasad Gupt and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1936. 

Evening Excursion to Sarnaath,

Sarnath (also known as Mrigadava, Migadāya, Rishipattana, and Isipatana) is the deer park where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma, and where the Buddhist Sangha came into existence through the enlightenment of Kondanna. Sarnath is located 13 kilometers north-east of Varanasi.

Day 08: Varanasi - Delhi

In time transfer to railway station to board on overnight train for Delhi. Saty overnignt at train.

 
Day 09: Arrive Delhi - Onward Destination

On arrival transfer to hotel for the day use.
In time assistance transfer to international airport to board flight for onward Journey.
