The Taj Mahal & Tiger Tour

Day 01: Delhi Arrival

On your arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend.  It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone.  From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.

Full day take the tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi.
Morning proceed for sightseeing of New Delhi,  Visit Qutub Minar, One of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb, built by the wife of Humayun, Haji Begum in the mid 16th century, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal.  Drive pass by India Gate (A War memorial) and Presidency House.
Afternoon proceed for sightseeing of Old Delhi, include the drive past to Red Fort, visit to Jama Masjid, Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and completed in the year 1656 AD, it is one of the largest and best-known mosques, and later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Chandani Chowk market.

Stay overnight at hotel.

 

Day 02: Delhi – Sariska (200 Kms/4 Hrs.)

Morning drive to Sariska, and on arrival check-in the resort / hotel.

Sariska Tiger reserve was created in the year 1978. It is one of the 27 tiger reserves created by Government of India under Project Tiger to protect the decreasing population of Tigers. Sariska is popular among wild life & nature lovers for its naturally beautiful sights & Bio - diversity. With Aravali range of hills on it's background, Sariska experiences extreme weather conditions.

Afternoon Camel Safari to villages, farms and beautiful country sides around The Sariska Palace.

 

Day 03: Sariska – Jaipur (107 Kms/ 3 & ½Hrs)

Morning Jungle Excursion to the Sariska Tiger reserve. Later drive to Jaipur enroute visit of Amber Fort,

Jaipur has been like that since 1727 when Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II had it built. And In 1876 A.D. Jaipur dressed itself in pink to welcome Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria and earned the epitaph ‘PINK CITY', it is also a home of excellent handicrafts especially known for the exquisite gold jewellery enameled or inlaid with precious stones, blue pottery, carving on wood, stone & ivory, block print, tie & dye textiles, hand made paper, miniature painting etc.

Visit of Amber Fort, Amber was the capital of the Kachhwaha clan, till Jaipur was made the official capital in 1727. Situated on a crafty hill, is the royal elephant ride to ascend the fort (depending upon the availability else by jeep). Stop at Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace) for photography. Hawa Mahal was built in 1799, its original intention was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen.

On arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.


Day 04: Jaipur – Ranthambhor

Morning drive to Sawaimadhopur, and on arrival check- in into the wildlife resort.

Ranthambore Fort is a formidable fort and has been a focal point of historical developments of Rajasthan. It is surrounded the famous Ranthambore National Park which was formerly the hunting grounds for the Maharajahs of Jaipur.

Afternoon proceed for 1st Jeep safari to Ranthambhore National Park to view the wild life & bird species.

Stay overnight at the wildlife resort.

 

Day 05: In Ranthambore

After tea / coffee, early morning proceed for 2nd jeep safari to the park with packed breakfast, later visit The Ganesh Temple and The Ranthambore Fort is an impressive historic monument spreads over an area of 7 Km and offers spectacular views of the National Park Ranthambore.

Return to hotel for freshening up.
Evening proceed for 3rd Jeep safari to Ranthambhore National Park to view the wild life & bird species.

Stay overnight at wildlife resort.
                                           
Day 06: In Ranthambhor

After tea / coffee, early morning proceed for 4th Jeep safari to Ranthambhore National Park to view the wild life & bird species. Afternoon return to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure.

Evening proceed for 5th Jeep safari to Ranthambhore National Park to view the wild life & bird species.

Stay overnight at wildlife resort.

 

Day 07: Ranthambhor - Bharatpur- Agra

Breakfast at hotel, morning proceed for Swai-Madhopur railway station to board on train to Bhartpur and on arrival visit to the Keoladeo Bird National Park.

Later drive to Agra en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri. 
An epic in red sandstone; a city of yesteryears today lost in the mists of time. A sonless Akbar had gone to Sikri to seek blessings of a Muslim saint Sheikh Salim Chishti. When his son was finally born, he in gratitude constructed his capital city and named it Fatehpur Sikri. Later Fatehpur Sikri is also known as Abandoned Capital of Mughal Empire.  
On arrival in Agra, check-in into the hotel.

Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World-the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendour of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is a vivid remainder of the capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries. A pleasant town with comparatively slow pace, The city is also famous for its carpets, gold thread embroidery and leather shoes. Agra was once the capital of the Mughal Empire.
Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 08: Agra - Khajuraho
Morning take a half day city tour of Agra.

Visiting the world famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later visit the Agra Fort containing the the Halls of Public and Private Audience. Also visit the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daullah built by Empress Noorjehan in memory of her father.
 
Later in time transfer to railway station to board train for Jhansi, and on arrival at Jhansi drive to Khajuraho.

Upon arrival at Khajuraho, check–in into hotel.

Khajuraho has the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples, famous for their erotic sculpture. The name Khajuraho is derived from the Hindi word khajur meaning date palm. The capital of the Chandela Kings, Khajuraho is famous for its magnificent temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and the Jain Tirthankaras. And temple are influenced by tantrism, in eroticism becomes a theme of philosophical interest and the aim is submlimation of sexual relationship in the sexual act or "Maithun", women being regarded as the incarnation of the divine energy or "Shakti". Itis also possible thatthe Khajuraho were influenced by "Kama Sutra".
Later temple visit of Khajuraho

Visiting western and eastern group of Temples form Chandela Dynasty, A few of the temples are dedicated to the Jain pantheon and the rest to Hindu deities - to God's Trio, among them the Kandariya Mahadeo, Chaunsat Yogini, Chitragupta temple, adinath Temples,Vishwanath temple, andvarious other temples.
Stay overnight at  hotel.


Day 09: Khajuraho – Bandhavgarh

Morning proceed for Bandhavgarh by surface, on arrival check-in into the resort.

Afternoon you will proceed for 01st Jeep safari / Elephant ride to national Park [Elephant ride included; depending upon the availability].
Rest of the day you are at leisure.
Bandhavgarh has a very high density of tigers within the folds of its jungles. The 105 km² of park area open for tourist was reported to have 22 Tigers, a density of one tiger for every 4.77 km². There is a saying about the Park that goes: “In any other Park, You are lucky if you see a tiger. In Bandhavgarh, you are unlucky if you don't see (at least) one”. With the tiger at the apex of the food chain, it contains 37 species of mammals, more than 250 species of birds, about 70 species of butterflies, a number of reptiles. The forest, tree-covered hills, archaeological remains and a variety of wildlife make the park an enchanting place.

Day 10: Bandhavgarh - Umaria – Delhi

In time drive to Umria railway station to board on train for Delhi, and on arrival at railway station you will be met and transferred to hotel for overnight stay.
Rest of day you will at leisure.


Day 11: Delhi Departure

In time transfer to the International Airport for flight to onward destination.
