Rajasthan Heriatage Tour

Day 01: Arrival Delhi

On your early Morning arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel

Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend.  It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone.  From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.

Full day take the tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi.

 

Morning proceed for sightseeing of New Delhi,
Visit Qutub Minar, One of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb; built by the wife of Humayun, Haji Begum in the mid 16th century, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal.  Drive pass by India Gate (A War memorial) and Presidency House.


Afternoon proceed for sightseeing of Old Delhi, include the drive past to Red Fort, visit to Jama Masjid, Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and completed in the year 1656 AD, it is one of the largest and best-known mosques, and later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Chandani Chowk market.

Day 02: Delhi - Neemrana                   
Morning proceed for Neemrana by surface.

Neemrana is famous for the Neemrana Fort, which is also a heritage resort. Neemrana fort palace is situated on a majestic plateau concealed in a horseshoe formation of the Aravali ranges, considered the oldest fold mountains in the world. The beginnings of this rugged Architectural Jewel which rises to nine levels, dates back to 1464 Ad, making it India's oldest heritage resort.

 

Arrival and check-in into hotel.

 

In the afternoon, visit the countryside, which is basically comprises tribal villages. In these villages not much has changed over the centuries.

Day 03: Neemrana - Mandawa (200 Kms / 4 & ½ Hrs)

Morning proceed to Mandawa, upon arrival in Mandawa, check-in into the hotel.

Mandawa former capital Shekhawati region famous for its beautiful heritage havelies and colorful frescos art works. Mandawa, a remote feudal principality in the centre of the Shekhawati region, was a trading outpost for the ancient caravan routes that stopped here from China and the Middle East. 
Rest of the day visits the Shekhavati villages.

 

The whole area of Shekhavati has beautiful frescoes, havelis & mansions and is called the open air gallery. Later stroll down the streets and bazaars of Mandawa.

Day 04: Mandawa - Dundlod

Proceed to Dundlod by surface and on arrival and Check in at the hotel after arrival at Dundlod.

 

17th century Rajputana Fort Dundlod is popular for its preserved houses that were built by Indian traders centuries ago.  Since then the cultural heritage of splendid Rajasthan is preserved as its ethos are imbibed in architectural grandeur of the Dundlod Fort.

In the afternoon, explore Dundlod, which has various havelis, baolis and forts.

Day 05: Dundlod- Samode

Morning proceed to Samode by surface and on arrival check-in into the hotel.

 

The Samode Bagh was built more than 400 years ago and is designed on the lines of the Mughal style gardens. Which dominates the village, is fabulously decorated old wall paintings (hunting scenes, floral motifs etc), which still look almost new.  Around the first floor of the Darbar Hall are magnificent alcoves, decorated with mirrors like shish mahal and jail screens through which the royal ladies would have looked down into the grand jewel-like Darbar Hall.

 

After refreshing yourself, explore the Havelies in Samode. Stay overnight at heritage hotel.

 

Day 06: Samode - Jaipur

Morning proceed for Jaipur by surface en route visit Ajmer, upon arrival at Jaipur check-in into the hotel.

 

Jaipur has been like that since 1727 when Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II had it built. And In 1876 A.D. Jaipur dressed itself in pink to welcome Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria and earned the epitaph ‘PINK CITY', it is also a home of excellent handicrafts especially known for the exquisite gold jewellery enameled or inlaid with precious stones, blue pottery, carving on wood, stone & ivory, block print, tie & dye textiles, hand made paper, miniature painting etc.


Afternoon we take an excursion to the Amber Fort and afternoon visit the city.

 

Amber was the capital of the Kachhwaha clan, till Jaipur was made the official capital in 1727. Situated on a crafty hill, is the royal elephant ride to ascend the fort (depending upon the availability else by jeep). Later stop at Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace) for photography. Hawa Mahal was built in 1799, its original intention was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen.

Day 07: Jaipur – Pushkar

Morning proceed to Pushkar by surface and on arrival check-in into the hotel.

 

Pushkar lies on the shore of Pushkar Lake. It has five principal temples, many smaller temples and 52 ghats where pilgrims descend to the lake to bathe in the sacred waters. One of the primary temples is the 14th century temple dedicated to Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. Very few temples to Lord Brahma exist anywhere in the world. Pushkar is also famous for its annual Pushkar Camel Fair.


Afternoon take the city tour

Visit Brahma Temple - This is the only temple in the world where Lord Brahma is worshiped and the main attraction of Pushkar. The temple has a special position in Hindu pantheons. There is life-size four-armed idol of Lord Brahma - the creator in the vestibule. Pushkar Lake - Pushkar Lake is another important attraction of Pushkar and it has immense significance for the followers of Hinduism. Savitri Temple -The temple is dedicated to Savitri, the wife of Lord Brahma and located on the top of the Ratnagiri Hill.

Day 08: Pushkar - Bikaner (285 / 6 Hrs)

Drive to Bikaner, and on arrival check-in at the hotel for overnight stay.

 

The city was founded by Rao Bika in 1486 and from its small origins it has developed into the fourth largest city in Rajasthan. The city is also known for its intricately carved Jharokas. These stone screens are found on the windows of forts and havellis - traditionally, women would use the screens to watch the world while remaining hidden. 

 

Evening proceed for an excursion of Junagarh Fort.
Junagarh Fort made of red sandstone, exhibits a wonderful mingling of Eastern and Western style. Built by Rai Singh between 1588 and 1593, has a 986-metre-long wall with 37 bastions. The fort and its palaces are profusely decorated with magnificent stone carvings.

Day 09: Bikaner - Jaisalmer (335 / 6 & ½ Hrs.)

Drive through the desert to Jaisalmer, Jaisalmer and on arrival, check in at the hotel.

 

Full day you are free for independent activities.

Day 10: Excursion to Sam Desert.

 

In the morning, visit the Jaisalmer Fort and other areas.


Visiting Jaisalmer Fort known as Sonar Quila ‘ The Golden fort’  is one of the largest of desert forts of the world. Manak Chowk, Salim Singh Ki Haveli (Mansion), Patwon-Ki Haveli-one of the largest and most elaborate Havelis in Jaisalmer, and Gadi sagar Lake.
Later in the afternoon, proceed to Sam, popular for sand dunes.

Enjoy the beauty of Sam. Mingle with locals and know about their culture. The people here are warm and friendly. Return to Jaisalmer.

Day 11: Jaisalmer-Jodhpur Jodhpur (290 Kms / 6 Hrs)
Morning proceed to Jodhpur and on arrival check-in into hotel for overnight stay.


The home of the Rathore rulers Jodhpur Once the capital of the Marwar state, it was founded in 1459 A.D. by Rao Jodha- chief of the Rathore clan of Rajputs who claimed to be descendants of Rama – the epic hero of the Ramayana.


Day 12: Jodhpur – Rohet Garh (62 Kms 1& ½ Hrs)

In the morning proceed for a sightseeing tour of Jodhpur.

Visiting Mehrangarh Fort, The Fort is followed by the Jaswant Thada, a marble cenotaph built in 1899 for Maharajah Jaswant Singh II.

Later drive for Rahet and on arrival and check in into the hotel.

In 1622 AD Rohet Garh was royal Palace of Thakur Dalpat Singh I for his exemplary courage and bravery in numerous military campaigns under the banner of the Rathores, Rohet Garh has had the honour of hosting some of the most respected names in the literary world.

In the afternoon proceed to explore Rohet. Rohet is a small town that has thatched roofs and colorful shops.

Day 13: Rohet - Sodawas

In the morning proceed for Sodawas by surface, and arrival check in at the hotel. Relax and enjoy your stay at the hotel.

In the afternoon take a walk through the main boulevard, visit the local school and colorful bazaar.

Day 14: Sodawas - Narlai

In the morning proceed for Narlai by surface, and on arrival check in at the hotel. In the afternoon take a escorted walk through the bustling bazaars.

Day 15: Narlai - Kumbhalgarh

In the morning proceed for Kumbhalgarh, and on arrival check-in into the hotel.

 

Kumbhalgarh was kingdom of Mewar spread from Ranthambore to Gwalior, including vast tracts of present-day Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Kumbhalgarh with its 36-kilometer long wall and soaring towers is the most impressive. Kumbhalgarh fell only once in its history, to the combined forces of Emperor Akbar, Raja Man Singh of Amber, and Raja Udai Singh of Amber, and Raja Udai Singh of Marwar.

After refreshing yourself, explore the Kumbhalgarh Fort in the afternoon.

Day 16: Kumbhalgarh - Udaipur (100 Kms / 2 & ½ Hrs.)

In the morning proceed for Udaipur, enroute visit to Ranakpur Temple Afternoon is at leisure, you can explore Udaipur on your own or enjoy the hospitality of your hotel.

Udaipur is also known as Venice of the East. The main City is situated around Lakes. Lake Pichola at Udaipur is one of the biggest human made lakes in the world. Udaipur is also described as the “City of Sunrise”. 


Day 17: Udaipur

Morning proceed for city tour of Udaipur. 

 

Visiting the City Palace, an imposing edifice of granite and marble Also visit  Museum, Sahelion Ki Bari, a Garden design in the early 18th century purely as a pleasure garden design and Jagdish Teple, Built by Maharana  Jagat Singh I in 1651 the temple enshrineses a black stone image of Lard Vishnu. There is a Brass image of Garuda the Lord Bird carrier.

 

Enjoy a two-hour boat-ride on Lake Pichola, which is surrounded by hills on three sides.  From little islands in the Lake rise at the water’s edge palaces of pure white marble.

Day 18: Udaipur - Delhi

Morning is at leisure. In time transfer to airport to board flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, check in into the hotel. Relax and Refresh.

 

Day 19: Excursion to Agra

Early morning drive to Agra,

Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World-the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendour of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is a vivid remainder of the capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries. A pleasant town with comparatively slow pace, The city is also famous for its carpets, gold thread embroidery and leather shoes. Agra was once the capital of the Mughal Empire.
On arrival half day city tour

 

Visiting  the world famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later visit the Agra Fort containing the the Halls of Public and Private Audience. Also visit the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daullah built by Empress Noorjehan in memory of her father.

Later return for Delhi by surface for overnight stay at your hotel.

 

Day 20: Delhi Departure  
In time transfer to international airport to connect flight for onward journey.
