Pushkar Fair Special Tour

Places to visit: Delhi - Jaipur – Chittaugarh – Udaipur - Ranakpur - Pushkar - Delhi


Day 01: Arrive Delhi

On your arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.


Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend.  It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone.  From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.

Day 02: In Delhi

Full day take the tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi.

Morning proceed for sightseeing of New Delhi,  Visit Qutub Minar, One of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb, built by the wife of Humayun, Haji Begum in the mid 16th century, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal.  Drive pass by India Gate (A War memorial) and Presidency House.

 

Afternoon proceed for sightseeing of Old Delhi, include the drive past to Red Fort, visit to Jama Masjid, Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and completed in the year 1656 AD, it is one of the largest and best-known mosques, and later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Chandani Chowk market.

Day 03: Delhi - Jaipur
In the motning you will proceed to Jaipur and on arrival at Jaipur, check in onto hotel for overnight stay.

In 1876 A.D. Jaipur dressed itself in pink to welcome Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria and earned the epitaph ‘PINK CITY', it is also a home of excellent handicrafts especially known for the exquisite gold jewellery enameled or inlaid with precious stones, blue pottery, carving on wood, stone & ivory, block print, tie & dye textiles, hand made paper, miniature painting etc.

Day 04: In Jaipur
Morning you will take full day city tour of Jaipur and Amber Fort.

 

Visiting Amber Fort, Amber was the capital of the Kachhwaha clan, till Jaipur was made the official capital in 1727. Situated on a crafty hill, is the royal elephant ride to ascend the fort (depending upon the availability else by jeep). Stop at Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace) for photography. Hawa Mahal was built in 1799, its original intention was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen.

Day 05: Jaipur -Chittaurgarh (320 km / 6 ½ Hrs)

Morning drive to Chittaurgarh,

 

The ruined Fortier's of Chittaur symbolizes all that is brave true and noble in the Rajput era. This glorious fort was attacked 3 times and every attack involved the ritual of Jauhar. This ritual are threw himself or herself into raging fire or a well, to prevent themselves from the humiliation at the hands of the enemy.

Day 06: Chittaurgarh - Udaipur (110 km / 2 ½ Hrs)

Morning proceed for city tour

 

Visit to Fort, Vijay Stambh (Victory Tower), and the imposing 37metre high structure with nine storys. Covered with exquisite sculptures of Hindu deities and depicting episodes from the two great epics - Ramayan and Mahabharata, the Vijay Stambh, was built in 1440 A. D. by Maharana Kumbha. Next is Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame). This 22 m tall tower is dedicated to Adinathji, the first of the Jain Tirthankaras. It was built by a wealthy Jain merchant in 12th century A.D., with figures from the Jain pantheon decorating the tower. Last but not the least is Rana Kumbh Palace.

 

Later drive to Udaipur and on arrival check-in into hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 07: In Udaipur

Morning proceed for city tour of Udaipur. 

 

Visiting the City Palace, an imposing edifice of granite and marble Also visit  Museum, Sahelion Ki Bari, a Garden design in the early 18th century purely as a pleasure garden design and Jagdish Teple, Built by Maharana  Jagat Singh I in 1651 the temple enshrineses a black stone image of Lard Vishnu. There is a Brass image of Garuda the Lord Bird carrier.

 

Enjoy a two-hour boat-ride on Lake Pichola, which is surrounded by hills on three sides.  From little islands in the Lake rise at the water’s edge palaces of pure white marble.

Day 08: Udaipur - Ranakpur (80 Kms /0 2 hrs)

Morning drive to Ranakpur and on arrival check-in into your hotel

Afternoon to visit the secluded 1439 Jain Temple Complex with 29 halls dissected by 1444 pillars, each sculpted with unique designs.

 

Ranakpur is renowned for some remarkably carved Jain temples in amber stone. The main shrine of the temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Rishabdev, the first Jain Tirthankar. Jain Temples build in 15th century. The renowned Jain temple at Ranakpur is dedicated to Adinatha. The temple, with its distinctive domes, shikhara, turrets and cupolas rises majestically from the slope of a hill. Over 1444 marble pillars, carved in exquisite detail, support the temple.The pillars are all differently carved and no two pillars are the same.It is also said that it is impossible to count the pillars.Also all the statues face one or the other statue,There is one beautiful carving made out of a single marble rock where there 108 heads of snakes and numerous tails.

Day 09: Ranakpur - Pushkar (250 km / 5 ½ Hrs)

Morning drive to Pushkar and on arrival check-in into your hotel for overnight stay.

 

Pushkar lies on the shore of Pushkar Lake. It has five principal temples, many smaller temples and 52 ghats where pilgrims descend to the lake to bathe in the sacred waters. One of the primary temples is the 14th century temple dedicated to Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. Very few temples to Lord Brahma exist anywhere in the world. Pushkar is also famous for its annual Pushkar Camel Fair.

Visit Brahma Temple - This is the only temple in the world where Lord Brahma is worshiped and the main attraction of Pushkar. The temple has a special position in Hindu pantheons. There is life-size four-armed idol of Lord Brahma - the creator in the vestibule. Pushkar Lake - Pushkar Lake is another important attraction of Pushkar and it has immense significance for the followers of Hinduism. Savitri Temple -The temple is dedicated to Savitri, the wife of Lord Brahma and located on the top of the Ratnagiri Hill.


Day 10: In Pushkar Fair

Pushkar fare brings alive the rich tradition of Rajasthan enhancing the glory of the golden sand. Spectacular Fair start with bedecked Camels, decorated cattle’s, adventures competitions, breathtaking events, jostling rustic crowd, meditating sadhus, holy dip, vivid stalls, exotic fair, colourful desert, so typical, so obvious, It can be nothing else but Pushkar Fair.

 

The evenings are possessed with its own charm, Deepdaan creates a spectacular view on the scared lake. The silent night pierced by camel calls, folk- lore, dramas and heart throbbing beats of folk music and dances. The fair attracts a great number of tourists from far and wide. The fair grounds reverberate with festivity, as rows of make shift stalls display a bewildering array items. Body tattooing is yet another favourite activity. The village is arranged in blocks of tents, each with its own identity, named after the famous dance of Rajasthan. The village also has huts with attached western style toilets and running water.

Day 11: In Pushkar Fair

Today you will free to witness Pushkar Fare.

Day 12: Pushkar - Delhi (By train)

Day free to witness Pushkar Fare, evening transfer to Ajmer for connecting train to Delhi, and on arrival transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 13: Depart Delhi
In time you will transfer to international airport to connect flight for onward journey.
