Places to visit: Cochin - Kumarakom - Periyar - Munnar – Athirapally - Kozhikode (Calicut) - Vythiri in the Wyanad Hills - BR Hills – Mysore - Bangalore


Day 01: Arrive Cochin

On arrival at Cochin you will be transfer to hotel.

 

One of the finest natural harbors on the Arabian Sea coast, Kochi, earlier known as Cochin, has been a port of all for foreign traders from early times. The city of peninsulas and islands, today it is Kerala’s commercial hub .Chinese Fishing Nets at the entrance of Cochin harbor are a fascinating sight.  Bolgatty Island houses Bolgatty Island built by the Dutch in 1774, which is former residence of the British Resident of Kochi. The Portuguese led by Vasco Da Gama arrived in 1502 and later the Dutch and the British.  And descendants of the Jews who arrived in ancient days still live here.

Morning take Half day tour Cochin.

 

Visiting Chinese Fishing Nets named after the country of their origin. Jewish Synagogue,  in Mattancherry was built in 1568 and rebuilt in 1664 with Chinese willow-patterned tiles and gold crowns and has ancient scrolls,  Mattancherry Palace,  See St. Francis Church, the first European Church in India, where Vasco Da Gama was buried until his remains were taken back to Portugal, and Fort Cochin. Visit the Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese in 1510 and later taken over by the Dutch.


A boat cruise in the backwaters takes you in the midst of a lush green setting of shady lagoons, wooded islands and canals.

Relax in the afternoon and spend time at leisure.

Day 02: Cochin –Kumarakom

Morning proceed to Kumarakom by surface, on arrival check-in into hotel.

 

The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake in Kerala, which is home to local varieties of waterfowl, cuckoo, and water ducks, as well as migrating Siberian storks. Furthermore Vembanad Lake is home to several types of marine life exclusively the 'Karimeen' (Pearl Spotted Fish), the 'Chemeen' (Prawns).

 

Later visit to Kumarakom

Visiting Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, enjoy the beauty of backwater by just relaxing near Vembanadu Lake.

Day 03: Kumarakom - Periyar

Morning proceed to the wildlife sanctuary at Periyar in Thekkady district and check in at the Hotel/Resort near Periyar.

 

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the well-known wildlife sanctuaries in the south. Also called the Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary, this place is ideal for watching the animals in their natural habitat. This lake serves as the waterhole for the animals and they come here to drink or take a dip. Elephants, Gaur, Sambhar and even tigers can be spotted here.

Later a boat ride to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. During your boat cruise, you will also be able to have a good look at many wild animals lazing on the banks of Lake Periyar.

Day 04: Periyar - Munnar

Morning proceed to Munnar and on arrival check in into your hotel.

 

Munnar, Tea estates provides a panoramic view of the valley and tea plantation. The enchanting high range of lakes and streams, the low-flying clouds and the mist-filled valleys cast a magical spell, which lingers long in the memory. The hill area is breathtakingly beautiful and is easily comparable to the best mountain ranges found anywhere in the world.


Afternoon visit to Eravikulam National Park,

 

Eravikulam National Park, where you can see the very rare mountain goats locally called the Nilgiri Tahr, and The Mattupetty Lake and dam, just a short distance from the farm, Dairy Farm, Old Munnar Town, the town market.

Day 05: Munnar - Athirapally

Morning proceed to Athirapally and on arrival check in into your hotel.

 

Athirapally bracing climate and the green magic of nature offers an exhilarating experience. Just relax there and enjoy the beauty of Arthirapally.

 

Full day take a rest in the nature climate.

Stay overnight in Hotel / resort.

 

Day 06: Athirappaly- Kozhikode (Calicut)

Morning proceed to Kozhikode and on arrival check in into your hotel.

 

The city of Kozhikode is famous for its trade and commerce and the Malabar Mahotsavam festival. The ancient monuments, tranquil beaches, temples, blue waters and friendly people have made the place very popular among tourists.

 

Afternoon we take you for full day sight seen of Kozhikode (Calicut).

Visit Pazhassiraja museum Pazhassiraja museum & art gallery, Krishna menon museum. Attractions which can be explored during a backwater tour of Kozhikode include Elathur and the Canolly Canal.

 

Stay overnight in hotel.

 

Day 07: Kozhikode (Calicut)

Full day take visit to Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary,

 

Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary about 25km from Kozhikode and 7 km from Beypore port on the Arabian Sea, Malappuram district, north Kerala.

Stay overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 08: Kozhikode - Vythiri in the Wyanad Hills

Morning proceed to Vythiri and on arrival check in into your hotel /resort.

 

Vythiri is set in a peaceful rainforest location with many options for trekking, bird watching and visiting the nearby Muthanga Wildlife sanctuary.

Full day you are free to explore beautiful town.

 

Stay overnight at your Vythiri resort.

 

Day 09: Wyanad Hills - BR Hills

Morning proceed to BR Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.

 

Afternoon you can enjoy the jungle activities like jeep safaris, elephant rides and trekking.

 

BR Hills Camp is set in a very hilly area and the accommodation is in deluxe tents,

Day 10: BR Hills - Mysore

Early morning we take you to Jungle Activities.

 

Morning proceed to Mysore, on arrival Check in into your hotel.

 

Mysore was once the capital of the wodeyar kingdom and is still one of the finest cities of southern India.  Small, easygoing, sandalwood country, a crafts-crazy city, friendly people going about their business in a city of gardens, tree lined boulevards, art galleries and a palace.


Afternoon visit to Mysore


Visit Mysore Palace, Nandi Bull and Brindavan Gardens, the ornamental terraced gardens, the swirling fountains, the colorful fairy lights and specially ‘dancing musical fountains’

Day 11: Mysore – Bangalore

Morning proceed to Bangalore, En-route stop at Srirangapatnam - the island fortress that was once the capital of the warrior-kings Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan, the Tiger of Mysore.

On arrival at Banglore, check-in into hotel for overnight stay.

Bangalore is a cosmopolitan and modern city, one of the fastest growing in India, attracting industry and commerce.  The city founded by a Hola King in sixteenth century and later become the fortress tower of the Tipu Sulatan and finally a British cantonment.  Over the past decades Banglore has become the India’s fastest growing city and the hub for national IT industry. This is the charm of Banglore  along with its pleasant temperate climate , beautiful gardens that are a legacy of the Raj and friendly people.

Afternoon proceed for city tour of Bangalore.

 

Sightseeing tour of this city of gardens visiting the Cubbon Park spread over 100 acres, and having a variety of flora.  During the drive you will view the Maharaja’s Palace, the Indian Institute of Science, the Public Library, the State Government Museum, and Vidhana Soudha, an imposing structure in granite built in the Dravidian style.  See the Bull Temple and visit the Mysore Arts and Craft Center.


Day 12: Bangalore Departure

Day you are free for the independent activities. Later in time assistance transfer to airport for flight for onward destination.
