Day 01: Goa
On early morning arrival at airport met and transfer to the hotel.
Being the epicenter of spices, indigo and cotton trade, the cultural and historical heritage of Goa, demonstrates a symbiotic relationship between East and the West. The churches, temples and mosques in Goa set an example of religious harmony and secularism before other states in India. Goa remained under Portuguese command for about 450 years. In 1961, Goa became a union territory along with Daman and Diu in India. In 1987, Goa became the 25th state of India. And now it is immensely popular tourist destination.
Morning depart for the full day city tour of Goa
Visit famous Basilica of Bom Jesus and the Se Cathedral. In the former lies the uncorrupted body of St. Francis Xavier in a silver casket and the latter houses 14 magnificent altars and five bells of which one is the famous golden Bell. The tour continues with a drive to Dona Paula beach, later drive past Miramar Beach. The tour ends in city capital Panjim, where you may go on a free for visit local animated market.
Later pick up and Return to your hotel.
Stay overnight at the beach resort.
Day 02: Goa - Badami
Morning proceed for Badami - Capital of the ancient South Indian Kingdom of the Chalukyas and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay at hotel.
Badami is famous for its exquisite 6th century A.D. Hindu and Jain cave Temples. The masterpiece in the famous cave temples of Badami is the well known 18-armed Nataraja who strikes 81 dance poses. Inside it are most famous Kamala Basti, the Jain Temple & the Jama Masjid and The Kapileshwar Temple.
Day 03: Badami - Hospet (180 Km / 4 Hrs)
Morning visit the rock cut caves of Badami
Visiting Rock-cut cave Temples, Gateways, Forts, Climb a flight of steps to reach the ancient caves - all hewn out of sand stone on the precipice of a hill. Also a must see are Bhutanatha temples that lend their names to the lake just beneath the cave temples. It is said to have the healing properties. Badami also has the eighteen inscriptions ranging from 06th to 09th century.
Later you will proceed Hospet by surface en-route sight seeing of ' Aihole & Pattadakal.
Visit Pattadakal - Situated on the left bank of the Malaprabha river, a world heritage centre, has 10 major temples representing early Chalukyan architecture, and was the second capital of the mighty Chalukyans and a place that hosted important state functions of the time. There are many temples here, mostly dating back to 6th and 7th centuries AD.
Aihole is place had an important position during the rule of the Chalukyas, visit the number of richly carved Hindu temples constructed in the 6th and 7th centuries.
After temple visit continue proceed to Hospet and on arrival check-in into the hotel.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 04: In Hospet (Excursion to Hampi)
Full day excursion to proximity to Hampi, the site of the medieval Vijaynagar Empire, is the most evocative of all the ruins in Karnataka.
The ruins of the Hampi of the 14th century lies scattered in about 26 sq. Km area, amidst giant boulders and vegetation. protected by the tempestuous river Tungabhadra in the north and rocky granite ridges on the other tree side the ruins is silently narrate the story the remains of the palaces and the gateways of the broken city tells a tale of man infinite talent and the power of creativity together with the capacity of the senseless destruction. Every rock, every path and every monument at Hampi speaks the same language; a language of glory and beauty.
Later return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 05: Hospet - Hassan (340 Km / 7.5 Hrs)
Morning proceed to Hassan, enroute visit the famous Hoysala temples of "Belur & Halebid".
Belur is known for its exquisite temples and Chennakeshava Temple, is a fine example. It took 103 years to complete and the façade of the temple is covered with intricate sculptures and frescoes - awe-inspiring in their workmanship. In the temple are hand-lathe turned filigreed pillars. Later Halebid–Hoysaleswara Temple has a wealth of sculptural detail, the walls covered with gods, goddesses, animals and dancing girls.
Later continue drive to Hassan and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay
Day 06: Hassan - Mysore (140 Km / 3 Hrs)
Drive to Mysore en-route visiting Sravanbelgola.
Shravanabelagola is a historical temple town and pilgrimage centre in Karnataka and center for Jaina Art, Architecture, religion and culture for over 2,300 years. The name of this holy center is derived from the pond called ‘bili-gola’ (white pond) between two hills. The place is known as one of the greatest monuments of Jain art. The collosul statue of Gomateswara with a height of 57 feet is situated on the summit of Indragiri hill. It is one of the two giant sculptures in the world, after the Collosus Ramses II in Egypt.
Later continue drive to Mysore and on arrival check-in into hotel and Later proceed for sight seeing tour of Mysore.
Visiting Mysore Palace-the Capital of the warrior-kings Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan, the Tiger of Mysore, Mysore Palace, Nandi Bull St Philomena's Church etc; Sri Jauyachamarajendra Art Gallery housed in the Jagmohan Palace, which has a collection of exquisite paintings. In the evening visit the Chamundi hill temple and Bull temple.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 07: Mysore – Bangalore
Morning drive to Bangalore a distance of 90 Kms En-route stop at Srirangapatnam, once the capital of the Mysore Rajahs, to visit the Fort and Palace. Srirengapatnam - a place with Ancient history is an Island fortress. We visit Tipu's Summer Palace & the Fort.
After visit to Srirangapatnam continue proceed to Banglore by surface and on arrival check-in into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 08: Bangalore Depart
On arrival in Banglore strait drive to the airport to board flight to onward journey. |
