Day 01: Arrive Chennai
On arrival, meeting and assistance transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
Tradition and historic temples town Chennai is endowed with the second longest beach in the world-the Marina Beach. The fourth largest city in the country, Chennai is a mix historic monuments and new high-rise buildings. A lush, green city famed for its temples and silk, music and dance, Chennai gives a sense of serenity and spaciousness, enhanced by one of the world’s largest and most beautiful beaches. Chennai also offers rejuvenating Ayurveda - a perfect t to relax and rejuvenate your senses.
Day 02: Chennai - Port Blair
Morning we take half day city tour of Chennai.
Proceed to Fort St. George containing the oldest Anglican Church in India, St. Mary’s Church, one of its benefactors being Elihu Yale, the English merchant after whom the University in Boston is named. The Fort Museum contains a fine collection of relics of that era. Drive along the Marina Beach past the Madras University, the Senate House and the Palace of the Nawabs of the Carnatic, to the San Thome Cathedral where the apostle is buried. Visit the ancients Kapaleeshwar Temple dedicated to Shiva, having a beautifully sculptured “Gopuram” (temple-tower) typical of South Indian temple architecture.
In time departure transfer to airport to Board flight for Port Blair and on arrival transfer to the resort for overnight stay.
Port Blair is the capital of the Union Territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is a small but picturesque place spread over a number of hills from Haddo across Secretariat Hill to Aberdeen Bazaar and South point. There are neat villages like Pahargaon, Shadipur and Garacharme.
Day 03: In Port Blair
Full day city sightseeing tour of Port Blair
Visiting Naval Marine Museum (Samudrika) - gives a good retrospect of the history, shells, Corals marine life, geography and archaeology of these islands, Mini zoo - houses some of the rare species of endemic birds and animals found in these islands, Chatham Saw Mill - one of the oldest and largest wood mill in Asia, Forest museum - offers an insight into forest activities through scale models and displays decorative pieces made of famous woods, Anthropological Museum - displays tribal essential and artifacts. After having lunch again the tour begins for Fisheries Museum (Aquarium) - exhibits species of marine life peculiar to the islands & Cellular Jail - a place of pilgrimage for all freedom loving people.
Day 04: In Port Blair (Excursion to Ross Island)
Morning proceed for Ross Island the erstwhile capital of Port Blair during the British regime. The island presently houses the ruins of old buildings like Chief Commissioner’s House, Government House, Church, Bakery, Press, Swimming Pool, etc. and all in dilapidated condition. After lunch, visit Chidiya Tapu- where lush green mangroves and beautiful beach with breath-taking sunset, creates a mesmerizing environment.
Day 05: In Port Blair (Excursion to Havelock Island)
Morning you will proceed to Havelock Island by inter-island ferry.
Havelock Island is the most visited of the islands, with the most (although still minimal) infrastructure. Havelock is a magical place. Life moves more slowly here, untouched by commercialism and modern intrusions. Unwind after a day's diving by relaxing on a hammock or sunning yourself on the beach.
Afternoon you will visit the famous Asia’s 7th most beautiful beach. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 06: In Port Blair
Today we will proceed for Mount Harriet- the 2nd highest peaks (365 mts high) in the Andaman, which offers a magnificent bird’s eye view of Port Blair’s adjoining islands. In the evening, move towards Sagarika Emporium for shopping followed by the local market of the city.
Day 07: Port Blair – Kochi Departure
In time departure transfer to airport to board flight for Kochi. After reaching the airport of Kochi take the connecting flight to your onward destination.
