Day 01: Arrive Delhi
On your arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend.  It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone.  From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.


Day 02:  In Delhi

Full day proceed for city sightseeing of Delhi

 

Morning visit Qutub Minar, one of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb - a red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal. India Gate (War Memorial Arch) and Lakshminarayan Temple - a modern Hindu Temple, Also drive past Parliament House and Presidency House.


Afternoon visit Raj Ghat - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Jama Masjid, one of the largest and best-known mosques, and drive past Red Fort.

Later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Old Delhi

Evening enjoy the Sound and light show in Red fort.

Day 03:  Delhi - Khajuraho

Morning as per scheduled time you will be transferred to the airport to connect flight to Khajuraho and on arrival check-in into your hotel.


Khajuraho has the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples, famous for their erotic sculpture. The name Khajuraho is derived from the Hindi word khajur meaning date palm. The capital of the Chandela Kings, Khajuraho is famous for its magnificent temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and the Jain Tirthankaras. And temple are influenced by tantrism, in eroticism becomes a theme of philosophical interest and the aim is submlimation of sexual relationship in the sexual act or "Maithun", women being regarded as the incarnation of the divine energy or "Shakti". Itis also possible thatthe Khajuraho were influenced by "Kama Sutra".


Afternoon half day temple visit of Khajuraho

 

Visiting western and eastern group of Temples form Chandela Dynasty, A few of the temples are dedicated to the Jain pantheon and the rest to Hindu deities - to God's Trio, among them the Kandariya Mahadeo, Chaunsat Yogini, Chitragupta temple, adinath Temples,Vishwanath temple, andvarious other temples.

Day 04: Khajuraho
– Orchha - Jhansi
Morning proceed for Jhansi via visiting Orchha

 

Orchha showcases the rich heritage of medieval times. This exotic city, with garish monuments and majestic temples makes it picturesquely bobbling and fascinating was founded in the 16th century. Orchha's grandeur has been captured in stone, frozen in time, a rich legacy to the ages with its striking forts, regal palaces, poetry carved temples and chhatris, and the city presents a matchless spectacle and is a delightful place for photographers. And the city is also known for its world class Mural Paintings, graceful monument which displays unique and exclusive architectural grandeur.

Visiting the fort is reached by an arched bridge and the three palaces set in an open courtyard within the fort are the first buildings to explore. Next visit Temples to the Ram Raja Mandir was originally a palace and became a temple more by accident than design. An image of Ram was installed while the temple, The Chaturbhuj was being built for it.  For some reason the image could not be moved from the palace and despite its spires and ornate decoration became a sacred place.


After visit Orchha continue drive to Jhansi and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 05: Jhansi – Datia – Sonagiri – Gwalior
Morning depart by surface for Gwalior enroute visiting Datia,


Seven storey palace of Raja Bir Singh Deo, built atop a hill, a unique example of the 17th century Hindu architecture.
Continue drive to Sonagiri with its 10th century Jain temples and on arrival in Gwalior check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.


Day 06: In Gwalior
Morning depart for full day sightseeing of Gwalior,


Gwalior’s history is traced back to a legend, in the 8th century A.D., a chieftain called Suraj Sen was stricken by a deadly disease.  He was cured by a hermit saint Gwalior and in gratitude founded a city, which he named after the saint who had given him the gift of new life.  Gwalior Fort spreads out over an area of 3 square km, built by Raja Man Singh Tomar in the 15th century. Near by temple are Teli-ka-Mandir - Dravidian-style shrine which is notable for its profusely sculpted exterior; the Saas-Bahu Temples- two pillared temples which stand next to each other, one larger than the other; and the Chaturbhuj Mandir, The Mughal emperor Babar referred to the Gwalior Fort as “the pearl amongst fortresses in India”


Morning proceed for a city sightseeing tour

Visiting  Gwalior Fort, Standing on a steep mass of sandstone, Gwalior Fort dominates the city and is its most magnificent monument, the 9th century Teli Ka Mandir, the 11th century Sas Bahu ka Mandir and the Jiwaji Rao Scindia museum. Continue the tour visiting the Tomb of Tansen - Akbar's foremost court musician followed by the memorials of the earliest freedom fighters Tatya Tope and finally the newly constructed Sun Temple.


Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 07:  Gwalior - Bhopal

Morning depart by the Shatabdi Express train for Bhopal and on arrival transfer to hotel.


Bhopal was originally a Hindu state rule by raja Bhoj after whose name this city is named. There was an Afghan soldier Dost Mohammad, who founded the city in A.D. 1723. the effect of the mughal architecture became quite  evident on the city. The most famous amongst these striking and remarkable masjids is the taj ul masjid, which is the largest mosque in the entire country.

 

After freshening -up in hotel leave for an excursion to Sanchi

 

Sanchi is a serene hill crowned by a group of stupas, monasteries, temples and pillars dating from 3rd century BC to 12th century AD. These experienced in its complex structures where many Buddhist legends found expression in the rich sculpture. The lotus represents the Buddha's birth, the tree signifies his enlightenment, and the wheel represents his nirvana or salvation.

Visit Great Stupas a massive hemispherical dome is one of the oldest stone structures in India and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Ashoka Pillar erected during 3rd century BC.Gateways of Sanchi, Buddhist Vihara enshrines the sacred relics of the Satdhara Stupa and Gupta Temple
Return to Bhopal for overnight stay.


Day 08: In Bhopal
Depart for full day excursion to Bhojpur


In Bhojpur you can see the temples of Shiva and Jain. Continue on to Bhimbetka, where you can see paintings in over 500 caves depicting the life of pre-historic dwellers.


Return to Bhopal for overnight stay.


Day 09:  Bhopal - Ujjain – Indore
Morning depart by surface for Ujjain a renowned pilgrimage centre
In Ujjain you will take the experience the striking beauty of numerous ancient temples here and also witness the holy rituals at River Shipra.

Later continue on to Indore and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.


The city Indore is situated on the banks of two small rivers the Saraswati and the Khan and named after the 18th century temple of 'Indreshwar' or Sangamnath Indore is rich historical tales and its contemporary pace, Indore remains a landmark city of Madhya Pradesh, and now days Indore is an important business and commercial centre of state Madhya Pradesh.

Day 10: Indore (Excursion to Mandu)

Morning proceed for excursion to Mandu


Visit to Jahaz Mahal (Ship Palace) build by Sultan Ghiyas-ud-din Khilji next the south of Jahaz Mahal Taveli Mahal and Hindola Mahal (Swing Palace) Champa Baoli, an elaborately constructed step-well, the place was so named as its waters were believed to smell like the 'Champa' flower.

Return to Indore for overnight stay.


Day 11: Indore – Ahmedabad
Morning as per scheduled time you will be transferred to the airport to connect flight to Ahmedabad and on arrival check-in into your hotel.


Ahmadabad, located on the banks of river Sabarmati was named after Sultan Ahmed Shah, who was primarily responsible for building Ahmadabad. This exciting city was founded in the year 1411 AD and is today, known as the Manchester of the East, because of its once booming textile industry and being one of the highly industrialised cities in India, also known as India's Textile City. This city was originally built on the banks of the river Sabarmati, but it has expanded since.

 

Later take the Heritage Walk in walled city of Ahmedabad.


 This organized walking tour is a great way to see the historic Swaminarayan Temple, exquisitely carved Jain and Hindu temples, ornate wooden havelis and the traditional lifestyle of the dwellers of the old quarters, bird-feeders, the 15th century Jama Mosque and the mausoleum complexes of the Sultans and Begums of medieval Ahmedabad. Depart for Palitana calling in on the way at the 2400 – 1600 BC Indus site of Lothal for an insight into the Harappan civilization.

Day 12: Ahmedabad– Wankaner

Transfer to airport for flight to Rajkot and on arrival straight drive to Wankaner and on arrival check-in into the hotel
Afternoon city tour of Wankaner includes visit to stupendous 1907 Ranjit Vilas Palace.
Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 13: Wankaner - Gir
Early morning drive to Sasan Gir Forest for game viewing.


 This forest is the last remaining natural habitat of the Asiatic Lions, teak and deciduous forest, leopard, deer, monkeys, hyena, peacocks etc.

Later proceed to Gir and on arrival check-in into the Lodge for overnight stay.


Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary is a 1412 sq km hilly tract of dry deciduous forests, acacia scrub, evergreen and semi-evergreen flora and grasslands, fed by rivers and streams. The National park is the only home to the Asiatic Lions in India. there are several human settlements of cattle herders with abundance of livestock population that forms a significant part of the Lion's diet.

Day 14:  In Gir National Park
Enjoy in the morning and afternoon drives in the Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day 15: Gir – Palitana
Morning drive to Palitana and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.


 Afternoon city tour.


Palitana is a gateway to Shatrunjaya, the Place of Victory. It is famous as one of Jainism's holiest pilgrimage places. The climb up 2 kms to the hill will lead you into 863 different Jain temples built over a period of 900 years. The most important temple is dedicated to Sri Adhiswara, the first tirthankar a Jain Founder) nearby is the uslim shrine of Angar pi. Childless women come here and make offering of miniature cradles at this Shrine to become mothers.

Day 16: Palitana - Bhavnagar

Morning you will drive to Bhavnagar and on arrival and check-in into hotel.


Bhavnagar was founded by Bhavsinhji Gohil (1703-64 AD) in 1723 AD near the Gulf of Khambhat, on a carefully chosen strategic location having potential of maritime trade. The Darbargadh (royal residence) was located at the center of the town. The rulers of Bhavnagar subsequently shifted to Motibag and Nilambag Palace. 
                                                                                     
Afternoon leave for a city sightseeing tour


Visit the Takhteshwar Temple and Gandhi Smriti Museum. Takhteshwar temple is located on a small hillock and provide good views over the city and out into the Gulf of Cambay and Gaurshankar Lake. Gandhi Smriti Museum is located northeast, by the clock tower and has a good collection of Gandhi memorabilia and and lovely place and Victoria Park.
 In the evening we visit the bazaar in Bhavnagar.

Day 17: Bhavnagar – Mumbai
In time morning departure to Ahmedabad to connect the evening flight to Mumbai and on arrival transfer to hotel.

 

Rest of the day you will be free for independent activities.

 

Mumbai is an industrial metropolis as well as the textile and film capital of the country. It was once a cluster of 7 islands. Bombay was ceded to the Portugese by the local ruler in the 16th Century.  Later, it was acquired by the English when it was given as a dowry to King Charles II when he married a Portuguese princess.  Today cosmopolitan Bombay is a commercial nerve centre apart from being one of India’s busiest ports.


Day 18: In Mumbai
Morning we take a half-day excursion to the Elephanta Caves.

 

Elephanta is a 3 kms long elongated island, consisting of two hills separated by a valley.  See Shiva in his three-headed aspect: as Creator (facing right), Protector (the crowned face at the center), and Destroyer (facing left, with serpents for hair). Also visit to Shiva bringing the Ganges River down to Earth.

 

Afternoon take the Half day tour Mumbai.


Visit the Juhu Beach, Gateway of India, Victoria Terminus, Prince of Wales Museum, Drive past the “Towers of Silence”, Kamla Nehru Park and Hanging Gardens situated on the slope of Malabar Hill offering a panoramic view of Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach. Drive through local animated Crawford market.
Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 19: Mumbai
In time transfer to the International Airport for flight to onward destination.
