Day 01: Arrive Mumbai
On your arrival at Mumbai airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.
Mumbai is an industrial metropolis as well as the textile and film capital of the country. It was once a cluster of 7 islands. Bombay was ceded to the Portugese by the local ruler in the 16th Century. Later, it was acquired by the English when it was given as a dowry to King Charles II when he married a Portuguese princess. Today cosmopolitan Bombay is a commercial nerve centre apart from being one of India’s busiest ports.
Day 02: In Mumbai
Morning we take a half-day excursion to the Elephanta Caves.
Elephanta is a 3 Kms long elongated island, consisting of two hills separated by a valley. See Shiva in his three-headed aspect: as Creator (facing right), Protector (the crowned face at the center), and Destroyer (facing left, with serpents for hair). Also visit to Shiva bringing the Ganges River down to Earth.
Afternoon take the Half day tour Mumbai.
Visit the Juhu Beach, Gateway of India, Victoria Terminus, Prince of Wales Museum, Drive past the “Towers of Silence”, Kamla Nehru Park and Hanging Gardens situated on the slope of Malabar Hill offering a panoramic view of Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach. Drive through local animated Crawford market.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Mumbai – Ahmedabad- Dasada (90 Kms / 03 Hrs)
In time you will be transferred to airport for flight to Ahmedabad and arrival check-in into the hotel.
Later proceed for a Jungle safari in the Little Rann of Kutch.
Little Rann of Kutch is a desert wildlife sanctuary and is known as the last abode of the Asiatic wild ass in the Indian peninsula. Watch for other endangered wildlife like the wolf, Indian and desert foxes, Indian gazelle, McQueen's bustard.
Later return to hotel for overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Dasada - Gir National Park
Drive into the Little Rann for birding and animal viewing in the morning.
Later proceed to Gir and on arrival check-in into the Lodge for overnight stay.
Day 05: In Gir National Park
Enjoy the morning and afternoon drives in the Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary.
Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary is a 1412 sq km hilly tract of dry deciduous forests, acacia scrub, evergreen and semi-evergreen flora and grasslands, fed by rivers and streams. The National park is the only home to the Asiatic Lions in India. there are several human settlements of cattle herders with abundance of livestock population that forms a significant part of the Lion's diet.
Stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 06: Gir National Park - Sayla
Drive to Sayla the in morning and in the afternoon drive to watch large herds of blackbuck antelope.
Part of the Indian state of Gujarat, Sayla was once a princely state ruled by the Jhala Rajputs. Known for its palaces and monuments, Sayla was founded in 1751 by Seshmalj who captured Sayla from the Kathi Darbars and made it the capital of his state.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 07: Sayla - Ahmedabad - Mumbai
In the morning visit Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary to watch birds on the edge of the lake. Later drive back to Ahmedabad and board a flight for Mumbai and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 08: Mumbai Depart
Later transfer to the International Airport for flight to onward destination.
