Day 01:  Arrive Mumbai
On your arrival at Mumbai airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.


Mumbai is an industrial metropolis as well as the textile and film capital of the country. It was once a cluster of 7 islands. Bombay was ceded to the Portugese by the local ruler in the 16th Century.  Later, it was acquired by the English when it was given as a dowry to King Charles II when he married a Portuguese princess.  Today cosmopolitan Bombay is a commercial nerve centre apart from being one of India’s busiest ports.


Day 02:  In Mumbai
Morning we take a half-day excursion to the Elephanta Caves.

 

Elephanta is a 3 Kms long elongated island, consisting of two hills separated by a valley.  See Shiva in his three-headed aspect: as Creator (facing right), Protector (the crowned face at the center), and Destroyer (facing left, with serpents for hair). Also visit to Shiva bringing the Ganges River down to Earth.

 

Afternoon take the Half day tour Mumbai


Visit the Juhu Beach, Gateway of India, Victoria Terminus, Prince of Wales Museum, Drive past the “Towers of Silence”, Kamla Nehru Park and Hanging Gardens situated on the slope of Malabar Hill offering a panoramic view of Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach. Drive through local animated Crawford market.
Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 03: Mumbai – Bhuj
In time you will be transferred to airport for flight to Bhuj and arrival transfer to hotel.


Bhuj is distinguished by its brightly decorated Hindu Temples, beautiful palaces and intricately carved wooden pavilions. It is a paradise for handicraft lovers. The houses here are decorated both from inside as well as outside with linear relieves made from mud and mirrors. Bhuj is famous for embroidery. The oldest Museum of Gujarat is situated in Bhuj.Be it the bandhni (tie and dye) and batik textiles, or the intricate silk embroidery done on leather, each artifact is a labour of love for the craftspersons. Different castes and communities do the colorful thread embroidery on cloth in their own distinct way.


Day 04: In Bhuj
Morning proceed for an excursion to Bunny Villages and Mandvi - one of the finest beaches in India on the coastline of Gujarat.
Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 05: Bhuj - Gondal
Morning you will drive to En-route visit Dhamadka and on arrival check-in into the hotel.


Gondal is a place with a royal past and naturally is dotted with a number of forts and palaces. The rulers of Gondal were great lovers of automobiles and one can see several vintage and Classic cars in the royal garage. Two Royal Rail saloons of the Gondal State were renovated, keeping the original decor and are available in the Orchard Garden palace. 

Evening excursion to Jetpur textile town known for yarn dyeing and hand printed saris.

Day 06: Gondal - Sasangir
Morning you will drive to Sasangir and on arrival check-in at hotel for overnight stay at hotel.


Day 07: In Sasangir
Morning Jungle safari to Gir National Park.


Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary is a 1412 sq km hilly tract of dry deciduous forests, acacia scrub, evergreen and semi-evergreen flora and grasslands, fed by rivers and streams. The National park is the only home to the Asiatic Lions in India. there are several human settlements of cattle herders with abundance of livestock population that forms a significant part of the Lion's diet.
 
Afternoon you will take a jeep drive into the National Park. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 08: In Gir National Park
In the early morning we have jungle safari in the Gir National Park.


Arise early morning to have jeep drive to the Sasan Gir Sanctuary which provides refuge to that rare species- The Asiatic Lion. Gir is also one of the major habitats of chousingha (the world’s only four-horned antelope) and Chinkara (Indian gazelle).


Afternoon you will take a jeep drive into the National Park.

Day 09: Sasangir - Diu (170 Kms/03 Hrs)
Morning you will drive to Diu via Somnath - the temple city also known as Prabhas Patan and home to one of the 12 Jyotirlings of India.
On arrival check-in into hotel for overnight stay.


Day 10: In Diu
Morning proceed for city sightseeing of Diu


Visit the Diu Fort. Diu Fort is an expansive and imposing structure was constructed between 1535 and 1541 AD and offers a magnificent view of the sea. Later visit the St. Paul's Church. St. Paul's Church is dedicated to our Lady of Immaculate Conception. This church was built during the 17th century and adorned with curiously treated volutes and shell-like motifs. And visit Diu museum houses wooden carvings, statues, idols, shadow clocks and other important artifacts collected from various sites.


In the evening we visit the Nagoa beach.


Day 11: Diu - Bhavnagar (200 Kms /04 Hrs)
Morning you will drive to Bhavnagar and on arrival check-in at hotel.


Bhavnagar was founded by Bhavsinhji Gohil (1703-64 AD) in 1723 AD near the Gulf of Khambhat, on a carefully chosen strategic location having potential of maritime trade. The Darbargadh (royal residence) was located at the center of the town. The rulers of Bhavnagar subsequently shifted to Motibag and Nilambag Palace. 
                                                                                     
Afternoon leave for a city sightseeing tour

 

Visit the Takhteshwar Temple and Gandhi Smriti Museum. Takhteshwar temple is located on a small hillock and provide good views over the city and out into the Gulf of Cambay. Gandhi Smriti Museum is located northeast, by the clock tower and has a good collection of Gandhi memorabilia and and lovely place and Victoria Park.


 In the evening we visit the bazaar in Bhavnagar.

Day 12: Bhavnagar - Uteliya (230 Kms /05 Hrs)
Morning drive to Uteliya via Palitana


Palitana is the gateway to the Shatrunjaya hill and one of the Jainism's holiest pilgrimage sites. There are about 863 temples on the top of the hill, exquisitely carved in marble and built over a span of 900 years. To visit the temples on the Shatrunjaya hill one has to climb 600 m 9up the hill.


Afternoon proceed for city sightseeing of Palitana


Visit the Jain temple. The temple which is dedicated to Shri Adishwara, the first Jain Tirthankara (apostle) is one of the most magnificent temples and the most sacred temple on Shatrunjaya hill and the Chaumukha or the four faced temple.


Later continue drive to Uteliya and on arrival check-in at hotel for overnight stay.


Day 13: Uteliya - Zainabad (130 Kms / 03 Hrs)
Drive to Zainabad, en-route visit Lothal to visit the ascent Harappan Culture in all its variant forms.


The word 'Lothal' meaning 'place of (he dead' in Gujarati language is said to have been formed by combining the words Loth and thal (sthal). Lothal is essentially a single culture site. The Harappan Culture in all its variant forms is well represented here. The Harappans were attracted to Lothal not only by its sheltered harbour with a rich cotton-and rice-growing hinterland but also by its bead-making industry.

 

It became a busy industrial centre importing pure copper and producing bronze celts, fish-hooks, chisels, spearheads and ornaments which were supplied through normal trade channels all over the western province and beyond.

Arrive Zainabad and check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 14: Zainabad - Baroda (230 Kms/04 & ½ Hrs)
Half-day city tour then drive to Baroda and on arrival check-in into hotel.


Vadodara is situated at the bank of Vishwamitri River and Known as ‘City of Banyan Trees.' It is a graceful city of palaces, parks, temples and museums. Vadodara was also known as Baroda and rises from the banks of River Vishwamitri. A pleasant, medium-sized city, it flaunts its palaces, temples, parks, lakes and monuments. Of special interest is the Pratap Vilas Palace which has a miniature railway model room, complete with all railway operations including signaling.

 

Later sightseeing tour of Vadodara


Visit Kammati Baug and Sayaji Bagh are beautiful parks in the heart of the city and The Laxmi Vilas Palace the Nazar Bagh Palace has Glass Palace.

 

Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 15: Baroda - Ahmedabad (120 Kms / 02 & ½ Hrs)
Morning you will drive to Ahmedabad and on arrival check-in into hotel.


 Ahmedabad is city of Ahmed Shah (the medieval ruler of Gujarat) known for its rich past and its association with Mahatma Gandhi the father of Nation. And city offers a unique style of architecture, which is a blend of Hindu and Islamic styles (Indo-Saracenic style of architecture) is today, known as the Manchester of the East, because of its once booming textile industry and being one of the highly industrialized cities in India, also known as India's Textile City. This city was originally built on the banks of the river Sabarmati, but it has expanded since.


Afternoon proceed for city sightseeing tour.


Visiting the fascinating poles of old city with beautiful wooden carved houses and one of the most colourful temple of city Swaminarayan temple built in late 19th century and Gandhi Ashram, Adalaj Step Well, Kankaria Lake and Sidi Sayyid Mosque Huteesing Temple , Bhadra Fort & Teen Darwaja, Tombs of Ahmed Shah and his Queens and Jami mosque.


Later visit the Jama Masjid. Jama Masjid was built in 1423 by Ahmad Shah and described by some as the most beautiful mosque in India. This mosque is believed to have been constructed from the items salvaged from the demolished Hindu and Jain temples. After visiting the mosque we visit the Calico museum of textiles. This museum of textiles has excellent exhibits of antique and modern textiles including rare tapestries, wall hangings, costumes and old weaving machines.


Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 16: Ahmedabad - Mumbai
In time transfer to Mumbai airport for flight to Mumbai and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.


Day 17: Mumbai Departure
In time transfer to the International Airport for flight to onward destination.
