Aurangabad Caves with Goa Tour, India

Day 01: Arrival in Mumbai
On your arrival at Mumbai airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

 

Mumbai is an industrial metropolis as well as the textile and film capital of the country. It was once a cluster of 7 islands. Bombay was ceded to the Portugese by the local ruler in the 16th Century.  Later, it was acquired by the English when it was given as a dowry to King Charles II when he married a Portuguese princess.  Today cosmopolitan Bombay is a commercial nerve centre apart from being one of India’s busiest ports.


Day 02: In Mumbai
Morning we take a half-day excursion to the Elephanta Caves.

 

Elephanta is a 3 Kms long elongated island, consisting of two hills separated by a valley.  See Shiva in his three-headed aspect: as Creator (facing right), Protector (the crowned face at the center), and Destroyer (facing left, with serpents for hair). Also visit to Shiva bringing the Ganges River down to Earth.

 

Afternoon take the Half day tour Mumbai.


Visit the Juhu Beach, Gateway of India, Victoria Terminus, Prince of Wales Museum, Drive past the “Towers of Silence”, Kamla Nehru Park and Hanging Gardens situated on the slope of Malabar Hill offering a panoramic view of Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach. Drive through local animated Crawford market.
Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 03: Mumbai – Aurangabad
Morning as per scheduled you will be transferred to the airport to board the early morning flights to Aurangabad and on arrival transfer to hotel.

 

The city Aurangabad was named after Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, meaning "Built by the Throne". In 1681, the city became the residence of Aurangzeb, who used the city as a base for his campaigns to conquer the last remaining Deccan sultanates until his death in 1707 AD. The city is most famous for its historical monuments and Rock cut caves, dating from 200 BC to 650 AD. consist mainly of Buddhist caves Temples and Monasteries. As well as Aurangabad is a major silk and cotton textile production center. ‘

 

Afternoon we take the sightseeing tour of the historic city of Aurangabad.

 

Your Aurangabad tour will include visits to Paithan Darwaza, Jalna Darwaza, Mecca Darwaza, Delhi Darwaza, Shivaji Museum and also visit Bibi-ka –Maqbara; which was built around 1657-1661, by the last of the six great Mughal Emperors Aurangazeb, for his wife Rabia Durrani. 

Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 04: Excursion to Ajanta & Ellora Caves


Morning proceed for full day excursion to caves.

 

The Ellora caves encompass 34 rock cut shrines representing Jain, Hindu and Buddhist. The most remarkable of them is the Kailash temple meant to be a replica of Lord Shiva’s celestial abode, Kailsah.

 

Ajanta Caves dated from the 2nd century BC. Discovered in 1819 by a group of British army officers, these startling achievements took around 600 years to create. Carved with little more than a hammer and chisel, Ajanta, once the retreat of Buddhist monastic orders features several 'chaityas' (chapels) and 'viharas' (monasteries). The exquisite wall and ceiling paintings, panels and sculptures of Buddha's life are famous throughout the world as the earliest and finest examples of Buddhist pictorial art.

 

Later return to hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 05: Aurangabad – Hyderabad
Morning as per scheduled transfer to airport to connect flight for Hyderabad. After reaching at Hyderabad airport take a connecting flight for Mumbai and on arrival check-in hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 06: In Hyderabad
Following the breakfast, brace yourself to visit the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.

 

Visit Char Minar-built in 1591, a charming rectangular building with four slender minarets, Osmania university founded in 1918 - the main building is blend of Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture, the Salar Jung Museum displays the private collections of Nawab Salar Jung III, an instance of a unique one man enterprise in the sphere of art collection and Birla Temple.

Day 07: Hyderabad - Bidar - Gulbarga
Get up early in the morning, as you have to cover long distance today. Have your breakfast and check-out of the hotel. Now you will travel towards Gulbarga and on the way, Bidar will make your halt. At Bidar, check out the Rangini Mahal, Sola Khamba Masjid, Gagan Mahal and Madarsa of Mahamud Gawan. Continue your journey for Gulbarga and on reaching there, check-in at the hotel and relax for the night.

 

Day 08: Gulbarga – Bijapur
Yesterday was bit hectic, so you can wake up late. Have your breakfast at the hotel and get ready to move around Gulbarga. It's a place known for perfect fusion of two cultures. Visit the ancient Fort, Jumma Masjid, Khawaza Bande Nawaz and Dargah Library. Afterwards, drive towards Bijapur and check-in at the hotel on reaching.

 

Settle down and stay overnight in your room.

 

Day 09: Bijapur - Badami
Enjoy your first meal and get ready to visit the second largest domed monument of the world, Gol Gumbaz. Besides it, you will be visiting Ibrahim Rauza and Jumma Masjid. Afterwards, drive down to Badami, via Aihole, which is known as the 'Cradle of Indian Architecture'. Here, you can visit some of the major temples.

 

Continue your drive to Badami, check-in at the hotel as soon as you reach and retire for the night in your room.

 

Day 10: Badami - Hospet
Relish the breakfast and be prepared to visit the erstwhile capital of the Chalukyas. Its picturesque surroundings would definitely make you mesmerized. Visit the famous cave temples of Badami and then, depart for Hospet enroute Pattadakal, where you will visit the ancient temples. Resume your journey to Hospet. On reaching, check-in at the hotel and relax.

 

Stay overnight in your hotel.

 

Day 11: Hospet - Hampi - Hospet
Take your breakfast at the hotel and get ready to drive towards Hampi. Earlier known as Vijayanagar, it was one of the largest empires of India. Though now in ruins, it still presents a wonderful insight on the ancient architecture. Check out monuments and temples that depict the royalty of the erstwhile era.

 

Drive back to Hospet and relax for the night at your hotel.

 

Day 12: Hospet - Dandeli
Have breakfast and pack your luggage to leave for Dandeli. On arriving, check-in at the hotel and unwind yourself for a while. Then get ready to explore Dandeli National Park. It's for sure you would love the surroundings and the expedition into the park. Spend the evening as you feel like. Calling it a day, retire into your room.

 

Day 13: Dandeli – Goa Departure
Take your breakfast and drive towards Goa. Move around the beaches and try its lip-smacking cuisine. Afterwards, you will be assisted to the airport to catch the flight for your onward destination.
