Day 01: Arrive Mumbai
On your arrival at Mumbai airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.
Mumbai is an industrial metropolis as well as the textile and film capital of the country. It was once a cluster of 7 islands. Bombay was ceded to the Portuguese by the local ruler in the 16th Century. Later, it was acquired by the English when it was given as a dowry to King Charles II when he married a Portuguese princess. Today cosmopolitan Bombay is a commercial nerve centre apart from being one of India’s busiest ports.
Day 02: In Mumbai
Morning we take a half-day excursion to the Elephanta Caves.
Elephanta is a 3 kms long elongated island, consisting of two hills separated by a valley. See Shiva in his three-headed aspect: as Creator (facing right), Protector (the crowned face at the center), and Destroyer (facing left, with serpents for hair). Also visit to Shiva bringing the Ganges River down to Earth.
Afternoon take the Half day tour Mumbai.
Visit the Juhu Beach, Gateway of India, Victoria Terminus, Prince of Wales Museum, Drive past the “Towers of Silence”, Kamla Nehru Park and Hanging Gardens situated on the slope of Malabar Hill offering a panoramic view of Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach. Drive through local animated Crawford market.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Mumbai - Hyderabad
In time transfer to airport to board flight for Hyderabad and on arrival transfer to hotel.
Afternoon city tour of Hyderabad
Visit Char Minar-built in 1591, a charming rectangular building with four slender minarets, Osmania university founded in 1918 - the main building is blend of Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture, the Salar Jung Museum displays the private collections of Nawab Salar Jung III, an instance of a unique one man enterprise in the sphere of art collection. And Birla Temple.

Day 04: Hyderabad - Chennai
In time transfer to airport to board flight for Chennai and on arrival met and transfer to hotel.
Tradition and Historic temples town Chennai is endowed with the second longest beach in the world-the Marina Beach. The fourth largest city in the country, Chennai is a mix historic monuments and new high-rise buildings. A lush, green city famed for its temples and silk, music and dance, Chennai gives a sense of serenity and spaciousness, enhanced by one of the world’s largest and most beautiful beaches. Chennai also offers rejuvenating South India Ayurveda Tour- a perfect tour to relax and rejuvenate your senses.
Later half day city tour of Chennai
Proceed to Fort St. George containing the oldest Anglican Church in India, St. Mary’s Church, one of its benefactors being Elihu Yale, the English merchant after whom the University in Boston is named. The Fort Museum contains a fine collection of relics of that era. Drive along the Marina Beach past the Madras University, the Senate House and the Palace of the Nawabs of the Carnatic, to the San Thome Cathedral where the apostle is buried. Visit the ancients Kapaleeshwar Temple dedicated to Shiva, having a beautifully sculptured “Gopuram” (temple-tower) typical of South Indian temple architecture.
Day 05: In Chennai (Excursion to Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram)
Full day excursion to Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram
Mahabalipuram - The little seaside town 7th century town is famous for its rock-hewn temples, sculptures and the world’s largest stone bas-relief. Mamallapuram is a sculptors’ delight and among the noteworthy sites in the vicinity of the town are Arjuna’s Penance, Krishna Mandapam, Varaha Mandapam, Nahishasurmardhini Caves, Five Rathas and Shore Temples.
Morning proceed for half day visit to Shore Temple.
The only shore temple that remains here is the spectacular two - spired shrine, unique because it houses both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu in its sanctum sanctorum. Also visit the Arjuna’s Penance, Krishna Mandapam, Varaha Mandapam.
Kanchipuram the ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a city of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Lord Shiva was built in the 7th & 8th century and has paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasanath, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest. Kanchipuram is also famous for its Silks.
Visiting sculptural marvels, in this ancient seaside town, shrines and huge sculptures cut-out of rocks more than 1200 years back during the reign of Pallava Kings in the region can be seen. The rock carvings depicting mythological episodes - of demons, Gods and animals in battle and others - are truly poems in stone.
After full day visit you will drive back to Chennai and for overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 06: Chennai - Bangalore
In time transfer to airport to board flight for Bangalore and on arrival Met and transfer to the hotel
Afternoon city tour visiting Cuban Park, which is a huge tree-studded lawn, spread over 300 acres with a number of public buildings gracing its boundaries. Located at one end of the park is the magnificent Vidhana Soudha built after independence, stands out by its imposing architecture in the Neo-Dravidian style. Visit Lal Bagh, laid some 200 years back, the gardens are spread over 240 acres and have 1000 varieties of trees and plants. A Glass House built on the lines of the Crystal Palace of London, is the venue of flower shows. It has a huge Nandi Bull carved out of single grey granite.

Day 07: Bangalore - Mysore
Morning drive to Mysore a distance of 90 Kms En-route stop at Srirangapatnam, once the capital of the Mysore Rajahs, to visit the Fort and Palace. Arrive and check-in into the hotel.
Later proceed for sight seeing tour of Mysore.
Visiting Mysore Palace-the Capital of the warrior-kings Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan, the Tiger of Mysore, Mysore Palace, Nandi Bull St Philomena's Church etc; Sri Jauyachamarajendra Art Gallery housed in the Jagmohan Palace, which has a collection of exquisite paintings. In the evening visit the Chamundi hill temple and Bull temple.

Day 08: Mysore - Bangalore - Ahemdabad
Morning proceed for Bangalore airport to connect flight for Ahemdabad and on arrival transfer to hotel.
Rest of the day you will be at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 09: In Ahemdabad
Morning city tour of Ahemdabad
Visiting Teen Darwaza, a triple gateway 37 feet high built by Sultan Ahmed, the Jumma Masjid, the Hathi Singh temple, a richly marble temple surrounded by 52 smaller temples, Rani Sipri Mosque, Sahking Minarets and the Step wells of Dada Hari, an example of remarkable style of monument that is a specialty of Gujrat.
Later visit the institute of Indology and Rabindranath Tagore theatre (both by architect B.V. Doshi), the Mill OwnerÆs Club by Le Corbusier, the Gandhi Memorial Museum on the Sabarmati river (by C.M. Correa) and the institute of Management - a large new residential business college by the American architecture, Louis Kahn.

Day 10: Ahemdabad - Delhi
Morning you will transfer to the airport to board flight for Delhi and on arrival met and transfer to hotel.
Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend. It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone. From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.
Full day proceed for city sightseeing of Delhi
Morning visit Qutub Minar, one of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb - a red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal. India Gate (War Memorial Arch) and Lakshminarayan Temple - a modern Hindu Temple, Also drive past Parliament House and Presidency House.
Afternoon visit Raj Ghat - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Jama Masjid, one of the largest and best-known mosques, and drive past Red Fort later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Chandani Chowk market.

Day 11: Delhi - Jaipur
Morning proceed for Jaipur and on arrival check-in into hotel.
Rest of the day you are free for independent activities. Stay overnight at hotel.
Jaipur has been like that since 1727 when Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II had it built. And In 1876 A.D. Jaipur dressed itself in pink to welcome Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria and earned the epitaph ‘PINK CITY', it is also a home of excellent handicrafts especially known for the exquisite gold jewellery enameled or inlaid with precious stones, blue pottery, carving on wood, stone & ivory, block print, tie & dye textiles, hand made paper, miniature painting etc.
Day 12: In Jaipur
Morning we take an excursion to the Amber Fort and afternoon visit the city.
Visiting impressive Amber Fort situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City. At the foot of the hill you will mount your caparisoned elephant for the slow but steady climb up to the main gate, The Fort, completed in the early 18th century, took over 100 years to build and now, although deserted, offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Moghul ruling families. A royal elephant ride to ascend the fort (depending upon the availability else by jeep). Also visit Sheesh Mahal or the Hall of Victory glittering with mirrors.
Next visit Maharaja's City Palace, the Observatory, & Ram Niwas Gardens. Later stop at Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace) for photography. Hawa Mahal was built in 1799, its original intention was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen.
Day 13: Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri – Agra (240 Kms/05 Hrs)
Drive to Agra, enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri.
Fatehpur Sikri is 40 Kms from Agra and built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal and other Palaces.
On arrival at Agra check-in the hotel.
Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World-the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendour of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is a vivid remainder of the capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries. A pleasant town with comparatively slow pace, The city is also famous for its carpets, gold thread embroidery and leather shoes. Agra was once the capital of the Mughal Empire.
Later visit the world famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later visit the Agra Fort containing the the Halls of Public and Private Audience. Also visit the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daullah built by Empress Noorjehan in memory of her father.

Day 14: Agra – Delhi Departure
Drive to Delhi. Hotel for day used. In time transfer to international airport connect flight for onward journey. |
