Bhutan Bird Watching Tour

Day 01: Arrive Delhi
On your early morning arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel.
 
Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend.  It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone.  From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.

Full day take the tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi.

 

Morning proceed for sightseeing of New Delhi, Visit Qutub Minar, One of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb, built by the wife of Humayun, Haji Begum in the mid 16th century, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal.  Drive pass by India Gate (A War memorial) and Presidency House.


Afternoon proceed for sightseeing of Old Delhi, include the drive past to Red Fort, visit to Jama Masjid, Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and completed in the year 1656 AD, it is one of the largest and best-known mosques, and later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Chandani Chowk market.

Day 02: Delhi - Paro
Morning you will transfer to international airport to board on flight for Paro, and on arrival transfer to hotel.
       
Rest of the day you will be free for independent activities.

Paro one of Bhutan's most impressive and well-known dzongs, and the finest example of Bhutanese architecture. The inward-sloping walls form a massive structure that towers over the town and is visible as a great white monolith from vantage points throughout the valley.

 

Day 03: Paro – Thimpu (65 Kms /02 Hrs)
Full day we take city tour of Paro.

 

Visiting of the Drukgley Dzong and on a clear day the 24,000 ft. white domed peak of sacred Chomolhari (Mt. of Goddess) looms overhead. A visit to the National Museum housed in an ancient watch tower, which has a fine collection of Thangkha, textiles, weapons, and artefacts-short walk to Paro Rimpung Dzong.

 

Afternoon proceed for Thimpu by surface and on arrival check-in into the hotel

 

Thimphu is the Capital to the tiny Himalayan kingdom Bhutan. Thimphu is a gallery of traditional Bhutanese art, architecture, culture, and tradition and above all still so ethnic and pure. Full of wonderful Hand woven textiles, woodcarving, and tailor made clothing, jewelry. And it is said that Thimphu is the only world capital without traffic lights.

 

Day 04: Thimpu - Gangtey (150 Kms / 05 Hrs)
Morning proceed for sightseeing tour of Thimpu

Visiting to the National Library which hosts a vast collection of ancient Buddhist National Institute for Zorig Chumsum It is commonly known as 'the painting school'. And National Memorial Chhorten, Trashichhodzong.

Later you will take a visit to handicrafts Emporium, to see the exquisite artistry of traditional crafts and textiles. 

Afternoon you will drive to Gangtey and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05: Gangtey Gompa – Gogona (15 Kms trek, 6 - 7 hours)
In the morning you will start your trekking tour it will be a trek for Gogona morning we will ascending to Tsele-la pass (3,400m) where we stop for lunch. The later continue trek to Gogona Village and on arrival take rest in tents.

Stay overnight in tents.

 

 Day 06: Gogona – Khotokha (16 Kms trek, 6 – 7 Hrs)
Morning proceed for Khotoka by trekking in a wide valley of Khotokha, where the people of Sha (under Wangduephodrang district) come in summer to graze their animals.

Afternoon we will reach to Shobju-la pass (3,400m).

Later the path leads down to a wide valley of Khotokha and on arrival stay in overnight in tented accommodation.

 

Day 07: Khotokha – Chazam - Wangduephodrang, (12 Kms trek/05 hours)
Morning you will proceed for Wangduephodrang by trek and view the natural beauty and finally reach the bridge at Wangduephodrang and on arrival check-in into the hotel.

Rest of the day you will be free for independent activities.

Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 08: Wangduephodrang – Punakha

Morning you will drive to Punakha and on arrival check-in into the hotel.

Punakha had once served as the winter capital of Bhutan. A three-hour winding mountain drive from Thimphu will land you in Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan. The route climbs past the forestry research station at Yusupang, then through apple orchards and forests of blue pine. A temperate climate and natural drainage from the phochu (male) and Mochu (female) rivers, the fertile punakha valley produces abundant crops and fertile punakha valley produces abundant crops and fruit. Viewing the scenery and then descend till you reach the Punakha Dzong located between Mochu and Phochu (Male 8 Female) rivers. The Dzong and the two rivers add exclusively to the scenic beauty of Punakha valley.

 

Later visit Punakha Dzong - one of the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan and also for having been built by the first Shabdrung in 1637.

Stay overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 09: Punakha – Paro (143 Kms/05 Hrs)
Morning proceed to Paro by surface, on arrival check-in into hotel. Evening you will be free to visit local animated market.

Stay overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 10: Paro – Delhi
Airport transfer and flight back to Delhi. After reaching the airport of Delhi take the connecting flight to your onward destination.
