Day 01: Arrive Delhi
On your arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.
Delhi, India’s modern capital is also an ancient city tracing its origins in legend. It is dotted with hundreds of landmarks and offers more than a millennium of history in stone. From here various Hindu and Muslim dynasties including the Mughals ruled India. When British administration moved to Delhi and New Delhi became the Capital of India once again.
Day 02: In Delhi
Full day take the tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi.
Morning proceed for sightseeing of New Delhi, visit Qutub Minar, One of the fine examples of early afghan architecture, Humayun Tomb; built by the wife of Humayun, Haji Begum in the mid 16th century, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal. Drive pass by India Gate (A War memorial) and Presidency House.
Afternoon sightseeing of Old Delhi include the drive past to Red Fort, visit to Jama Masjid, Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and completed in the year 1656 AD, it is one of the largest and best-known mosques, and later enjoy cycle rickshaw ride within Chandani Chowk market.
Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Delhi- Shimla
Morning drive to Shimla and on arrival check-in the hotel for overnight stay.
The summer capital of the British in India, this was the country's focus for the better part of every year and now, it is the state capital of Himachal Pradesh. Today, its well developed facilities, easy accessibility and numerous attractions make it one of India's most popular hill resorts. Places in the lower ranges of the Himalaya Mountains, it is surrounded by pine, deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. Within the town are a host of splendid colonial edifices, quaint cottages and charming walks.
Day 04: Shimla
Morning sightseeing tour of Shimla
Visit Indian Institute of Advanced Studies built in 1888. Situated on a hillock, this was formally the palace of the British Viceroy. Also visit the Jakho temple.
Evening visit The Mall the main shopping area of Shimla and The Ridge. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 05: Shimla - Sarhan (184 Kms/7 hrs)
We start our jeep safari to Sarhan enroute visit the palace in Rampur.
Later continue drive to Sarhan,
Sarhan, The gorgeous spectacle of the Himalayan ranges with the unspoilt pastoral loveliness of an unpretentious and the tiny village offers the splendid views of Shrikhanda Mahadev Peak You will also visit the famous Bhimkali Temple, the big attraction of Sarhan.
Arrive at Sarhan check-in into the hotel.
Later visit to old Bhimkali Temple and Raja Bushair Palace. Steeped in legend, the temple complex is a resplendent example of hill architecture.
Stay overnight tat hotel.
Day 06: Sarhan - Sangla (304 Kms/8 Hrs)
Morning you will proceed for Sangla and on arrival check-in into check in and stay overnight at camp.
The Town Sangla is situated on the right bank of Baspa River 17 Kms from Karcham. It is also known as Baspa Valley since Baspa River flows through this area. This is the most charming valley in the entire District of Kinnaur.
The natural scenery all around and the eternal snow view are picturesque and charming.
Day 07: Sangla - Kalpa (53 Kms/ 2 Hrs)
In Morning don’t forget to take a view of Kinner - Kailash Peak is splendid from Sangla.
Morning proceed for to Kalpa by surface on arrival stay at Camp.
Evening you will be free to explore Kalpa village.
Kalpa (2759 m): Beyond Recong Peo (on the link road, is the main village of the District - Kalpa. Across the river, facing Kalpa is the majesty of the Kinner Kailash range. This is a spectacular sight early in the morning as
the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold light.
Day 08: Kalpa - Tabo (176 Kms/ 08 Hrs)
Morning proceed for to Tabo enroute visiting Nako village beautifully located on banks of a small lake.
On arrival in Tabo check-in and overnight at guest house for overnight stay.
Tabo is also the home of the incarnated H.H. the Dalai Lama's junior tutor. A new gompa and a school has been built for the young monks as well as civil administration buildings, local schools, agricultural works and electrification have changed the character of the village drastically had an unfortunate impact on the cultural geography.
Day 09: Tabo – Kaza (50 Kms/5 Hrs)
Morning you will visit Tabo monastery. Later travel to Kaza enroute visiting Lalung and Dhankar Gompa and on arrival in Kaza check in at guest house
Afternoon visit to Dhankar Monastery
Dhankar Monastery has about 100 Lamas and is in position of Budhist scriptures in Bhoti language. Principal figure is a Statue of “Vairochana" (Dhayan Budha) consisting of 4 complete figures seated back to back. It has relics in the shape of paintings and sculptures.
Day 10: Kaza
Full day excursion to Monasteries
Ki Monastery is situated 12 Kms north of Kaza and serves the western population of Spiti. It is the oldest and biggest monastery of the valley and located at (4116 m) above Ki village. It houses beautiful scriptures and paintings of Budha and other goddesses.
Later visit visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead and Kibber village at 4205 m/13,792 ft has the distinction of being the highest permanently inhabited village of the region.
Kibber is locally known as Khyipur, one of the highest villages in the world at an altitude of 4205 m above sea level in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains from all sides.
Day 11: Kaza – Keylong (206 Kms /9 hrs)
In the morning drive to Keylong via Kunzam Pass (4558 m/14,950ft) and on arrival checking into hotel for overnight stay.
Keylong is the district Headquarters of Lahaul Spiti on the main road to Leh over Rohtang. It is an oasis of green fields and willow trees, water streams surrounded with brown hills and snow capped peaks.
Day 12: Keylong – Sarchu (248 Kms / 08 Hrs)
Morning you will drive from Keylong to Sarchu over Baralachala Pass (4800 m) and on arrival check in at camp at Sarchu.
Evening you will be free to walk around in Sarchu. Stay overnight in camp..
Sarchu is the border line between Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh - a picturesque town is located at the height of 4253 meters offers splendid views of snow-capped mountains, and we reach Baralachala pass 4883 Mtrs. here on the top there is a lake known as Surajtal and we will meet first village at Darcha after Rumtze.
Day 13: Sarchu - Leh (248 Kms/8 Hrs)
Morning you will drive Sarchu and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.
Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 14: Sarchu - Leh
Morning you will drive Leh and on arrival check-into the hotel for overnight stay
Rest of the day you are free for independent activities.
Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 15: In Leh
Full day excursion to visit monasteries,
Visit to Leh Palace - the palace is a distinguished monument and a historical building. The nine- storied palace was built by the 17th century illustrious ruler of Ladakh Sengge Namgyal. Later Shey Palace, This Palace Monastery has the largest statue of Maitreya Buddha (Buddha to come) in Ladakh.
Visit Thiksey monastery it is quite interesting to visit the monastery early in the morning to see praying cermoney and visit one of the biggest Monastery of Leh "Hemis". On the way back visit Shey Palace.
Return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 16: In Leh
Morning take a half day tour of Spituk and Phyang Monastery.
Spitok village, its spacious rooftops command superb views. There is the grave of a very high reincarnation at the Gompa and the Spitok head Lama is also the head Lama of the Sankar Gompa in Leh. He also represents Ladakh as a member of the Indian Parliament. Gurphug in Stok and Pashi Gephel in Sabu are also under monasteries of Spitok. The Gompa has three chapels of which the highest, the Paldan Lumo temple (Kali Mater), is the most impressive. The temple Gonkhang is approximately a thousand years old. Phyang built by kind Lkra-Shis_namgyal, founder of Namgyal Dynasty, in 1500 after defeating the last of the Lah-Chen King and is the home of the Sri Khing Pa sect (Red Capped).
Afternoon you will visit to Kings Palace, Leh Mosque, Leh Gompa, and Shankar Gompa.
Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 17: Leh – Delhi - Depart
In time you will transfer to airport to board flight for Delhi, and on arrival transfer to hotel for day use.
Later in time transfer to airport of Delhi take the flight to your onward destination. |
