Sunkosi River Rafting Tour

The Sun Koshi flows eastwards in Nepal through the great valley between the Mahabharat Lekh mountains and the Himalayas. While the lower sections of large volume rivers are usually rather flat, the Sun Kosi reserves some of its biggest and best rapids for the last days.The river rises near Shisha Pangma in Tibet and runs eastwards, draining the highest mountains of the world before emerging on the plains of India, where it joins the Ganges. Our journey takes us 270km through some of Nepal’s most remote regions giving you a unique

wilderness experience. The first two days are relatively easy and allow time to train you as a team before the bigger rapids arrive. The rapids have acquired names like Meat Grinder, High Anxiety, Jaws and Big Dipper, from previous experiences on expeditions.

Places to visit: Kathmandu - Dolalghat - Besi Camp - Timal Bensi - Rosho Khola - Dunja village – Khurkot – Oxbox- Dudh Koshi - Rasuwa Khola - Kampu Ghat - Tribenighat- Chatara – Kathmandu

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
On your early morning arrival at international airport, transfer to your hotel.

Kathmandu the capital and cultural hub of Nepal Kingdom, surrounded by green hills and mountains with snow capped peaks against its northern and eastern background the Valley is indeed beautiful. There are complex examples of Nepal’s art and architecture all round.

Day 02: In Kathmandu
Morning you will proceed for full day visit to Kathmandu

Visiting temples of Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, temple of the living and Also visit Durbar Square, which is residence of Kumari, the Living Goddess (Virgin Goddess), its wooden balconies and windows are profusely carved. Later visit Hanuman Dhoka, the historic palace of the ancient kings of Nepal. A complex of many temples and monuments, guarded by a huge statue of the Monkey God, It is here that the kings of Nepal are crowned, and their coronations solemnized.

Rest of the evening is free to enjoy exploring local animated market.
Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu - Dolalghat - Besi camp
Morning you will drive to Dolalghat by surface and on arrival check-in into Bensi camp.
Rest of the day you will be on expedition training and camp pitching demonstration. stay overnight in the camp.

Day 04: Timal Bensi - Rosho Khola
Early morning wake up call followed by a nature walk in the surrounding areas. In Morning a training raft runs.
Later you will start rafting on river and proceed to Rosho Khola.

Evening you will be free for Nature walk. Arrive Roho Khola and check-into the camp for overnight at camp stay near to Dunja village.

Day 05: Dunja village – Khurkot
Morning you will start rafting on river and proceed to Khurkot.

Stay overnight at camp.

Day 06: Khurkot – Oxbox
Morning you will start rafting on river and proceed to Oxbox. Stay overnight at your camp.

Day 07: Oxbox - Dudh Koshi
Morning you will start rafting on river and proceed to Dudh Koshi. Stay overnight at your camp.

Day 08: Dudh Koshi - Rasuwa Khola
Morning you will start rafting on river and proceed to Rasuwa Khola. Stay overnight at your camp.

Day 09: Rasuwa Khola - Kampu Ghat - Tribenighat
Raft from boeard beach bordered by a 400 ft high waterfall or Kampu Ghat.

Day 10: Tribenighat – Chatara
Raft from Tribenighat ,where the Arun and Tamur join the Sun Koshi. Arrive Chatara,end of the rafting and on arrival drive to Dharan and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Chatara – Kathmandu
Drive back to Kathmandu and on arrival check-in into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 12: Kathmandu Departure
In time departure transfer to international airport to board flight for onward Journey.
