South India Wildlife Tour

Day 01: Arrive Bangalore
On your arrival at International airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

 

Bangalore is a cosmopolitan and modern city, one of the fastest growing in India, attracting industry and commerce.  The city founded by a Hola King in sixteenth century and later become the fortress tower of the Tipu Sulatan and finally a British cantonment.  Over the past decades Banglore has become the India’s fastest growing city and the hub for national IT industry. This is the charm of Banglore  along with its pleasant temperate climate , beautiful gardens that are a legacy of the Raj and friendly people.

Day 02: Bangalore – Nagarhole
After breakfast at hotel, proceed to Nagarhole, and on arrival installation at Jungle Resort.


The Nagarhaole National Park, About 643 Kms in area, Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary is home to the tiger along with the other wild life species and around 250 bird species.


Nagarhole national park (NNP), the enchanting 247 square-mile park in Karnataka has an astonishing abundance of wildlife including large mammals such as tiger, leopard, wild elephant, dhole (Indian wild dog), and gaur (Indian bison). Other species present are chital spotted deer, muntjac (barking deer), mouse deer, four-horned antelope, wild boar, sloth bear, hyena, mongoose, civet, otter, and more.

Later afternoon enjoy a wildlife viewing on the afternoon jeep safari trip.

Stay overnight at Jungle Resort.

Day 03: Nagarhole – BR Hills
Morning proceed to National park by jeep safari to view the wildlife and bird species.

 

Afternoon return to resort for freshening-up, later proceed for BR Hills by trekking and on arrival stay in tented accommodation.

Day 04: In BR Hills
Morning and evening you will viewing wildlife and bird species.
Stay overnight in tented accommodation.

 

Day 05: BR Hills - Bandipur National Park
Morning proceed to Bandipur and on arrival installation at Resort.

 

Day 06: In Bandipur National Park
Morning and evening jeep safari to Park.

Bandipur National Park is one of India's best known sanctuaries located in at the confluence of the Western Ghats and Nilgiri Hills. national park occupies a special place in India's efforts towards natural conservation. It was created in the 1930s from the local Maharaja Voodiyar's hunting lands, and named Venugopal Wildlife Park. natural inhabitants of this lovely forest are gaur (a type of bull), sambhar, chital, mouse deer, four-horned antelope, wild boar, jackal, sloth bear, panther, Malabar squirrel, porcupines and the black-knapped  and many types of bird species.

Stay overnight at your resort.

Day 07:  Bandipur – Ooty (80 Kms/03 Hrs)

Morning you will drive to Ooty from Bandipur and on arrival check-in into the resort. Afternoon and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Stay overnight at resort.

 

Day 08:  Ooty - Munnar - Eravikulam National Park
Morning proceed to Eravikulam National Park and on arrival installation at Resort.


Munnar, Tea estates provides a panoramic view of the valley and tea plantation. The enchanting high range of lakes and streams, the low-flying clouds and the mist-filled valleys cast a magical spell, which lingers long in the memory. The hill area is breathtakingly beautiful and is easily comparable to the best mountain ranges found anywhere in the world.


Proceed for Eravikulam National Park.

 

Eravikulam National Park, where you can see the very rare mountain goats locally called the Nilgiri Tahr, and The Mattupetty Lake and dam, just a short distance from the farm, Dairy Farm, Old Munnar Town, the town market. 

Stay overnight at hotel.

 

Day 09:  Eravikulam - Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Morning proceed to the wildlife sanctuary at Periyar in Thekkady district and check in at the Hotel/Resort near Periyar for overnight stay.

 

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the well-known wildlife sanctuaries in the south. Also called the Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary, this place is ideal for watching the animals in their natural habitat. This lake serves as the waterhole for the animals and they come here to drink or take a dip. Elephants, Gaur, Sambhar and even tigers can be spotted here.

Day 10: Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Enjoy a morning boat ride to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.

 During your boat cruise, you will also be able to have a good look at many bird species and wild animals lazing on the banks of Lake Periyar.

 

 Day 11:  Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary - Kumarakom
Drive to Kumarakom early in the Morningand on arrival at Kumarakom check-in into the hotel.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure.


The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake in Kerala, which is home to local varieties of waterfowl, cuckoo, and water ducks, as well as migrating Siberian storks. Furthermore Vembanad Lake is home to several types of marine life exclusively the 'Karimeen' (Pearl Spotted Fish), the 'Chemeen' (Prawns).


Stay overnight at the resort.

 

Day 12: Kumarakoram Bird Sanctuary
Enjoy the morning backwater cruise and in the evening visit to the Kumarakoram Bird Sanctuary. Stay overnight at the resort.

 

Day 13: Kumarakoram Bird Sanctuary - Kochi - Onward Destination
Morning you will drive to Kochi and on arrival in Kochi straight proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Kochi.

One of the finest natural harbors on the Arabian Sea coast, Kochi, earlier known as Cochin, has been a port of all for foreign traders from early times. The city of peninsulas and islands, today it is Kerala’s commercial hub .Chinese Fishing Nets at the entrance of Cochin harbor are a fascinating sight.  Bolgatty Island houses Bolgatty Island built by the Dutch in 1774, which is former residence of the British Resident of Kochi. The Portuguese led by Vasco Da Gama arrived in 1502 and later the Dutch and the British.  And descendants of the Jews who arrived in ancient days still live here.

Visiting Fort Cochin, proceed on a sight seeing tour to attractions such as the Dutch Palace,


Chinese Fishing Nets named after the country of their origin. Jewish Synagogue,  in Mattancherry was built in 1568 and rebuilt in 1664 with Chinese willow-patterned tiles and gold crowns and has ancient scrolls,  Mattancherry Palace,  See St. Francis Church, the first European Church in India, where Vasco Da Gama was buried until his remains were taken back to Portugal, and Fort Cochin. Visit the Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese in 1510 and later taken over by the Dutch.

Depart as per schedule to the cochin airport, for onward journey.
